Saw something interesting about him. He has never built a D1 program. Much like Harsin, he took over a program built by Peterson. Peterson had Washington in the top 16 in recruiting however DeBoer had them in the 30s. He basically brought in a top notch QB from his previous school and injected him in with Peterson’s recruits. He has never cracked a top 25 recruiting class.

What I was reading elsewhere, that was cited as a likely reason they would go after a former assistant like Locksley.

I’m reading on another board that the boosters at UA are coming back like they used to and they are pushing for Mike Locksley.

Lanning just said in an interview that he was home with his son watching a movie when his son’s phone went off reporting he was in Alabama.

I have a coworker that goes to church with them and she makes it sound like they are really nice people off the field. Nick sounds a bit robotic from what she has said. I kinda wonder if he might have Aspergers or something similar.

On3 just ran a story on behind the scenes. As a back story, Payton and Jackson have stayed in touch with each other on a regular basis since high school. Jackson told Payton earlier this week that he wanted a change and was going to enter the portal as a WR. Payton immediately took the info to Freeze and Marcus Davis, who proceeded to get his high school WR film and was convinced to make him an offer. The whole deal took place in roughly one day.

Yeah I graduated from CCHS. They usually struggle. They often sit on the 5/6 A line and often get put into classifications they can’t compete in.

I saw where Freeze said they tweaked the offense to match what we saw during the final series of Ole Miss. Kinda reminds me of how Gus figured out the 2013 offense at the end of LSU.

This game reminded me a lot of the Miss St 2010 game as well. I feel it’s mostly just growing pains of the new team and new coaches.
