What is a coaches decision? Is he hurt? Sick? In the doghouse? Or just resting him because Georgia State is not good and we don’t need him??

I am normally a patient person. But what the hell have we been doing for the past month? We should’ve had our guy lined up ready to announce already. I knew Lane was pulling our strings and we just took it. I never trusted the guy. Even if we thought we had him, there should be a plan B and a plan C and even a D. It’s frustrating to see Nebraska, ASU, and Wisconsin all announce this weekend. And now I see Georgia Tech is making moves as well. WTH are we doing?? It’s all too quiet and I’m losing my patience

He said his oldest is a freshman in high school and wants more family time.

It was announced on the Tiger Tailgate show that Stan White will call his last game today. He’s been the color analyst for 22 years. He started with Jim Fyffe. Going to miss him in the booth!!

I live in the Huntsville area and I am debating whether or not to go to the game Saturday. It will just be my son (17 yrs) and I. It’s been forever since I’ve been to a game at JHS. I’m nervous over parking, traffic, and whether or not to get a hotel (probably will have to look in Montgomery) or just try to drive back after the game. Any suggestions on where to park? Any other tips if I decide to go? Thanks

Thanks @3rdgeneration, we girls need to take a course in game planning. When my son started playing HS football, I was hoping to learn more about Xs and Os by helping him learn his playbook. But it was all done online and he didn’t need my help. Missed opportunity there. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Add the generous spots MSU got as well. I’m normally not one to complain about the refs because usually both sides get and don’t get calls. But, the last few minutes of the game and the ball spots were terrible officiating that affected the outcome of the game. Even my son who does not watch much college football (he prefers the nfl) watched the end of the game and said we got screwed.

Is the play chart the same as using analytics? Sorry, I’ve watched football my whole life but still don’t know all that goes into game planning. I’m a football mom but never played obviously. I hear some coaches including Lane like to use analytics. I don’t like solely calling plays based on analytics and that’s one of the things that worries me about Lane if we end up with him (which TBH, I don’t think we get him. I think he’s using us for a raise).

Will there be a press conference to formally introduce him? Or did I miss it?

It’s been a great day. I’m so happy for Caddy. I love how we are all united again. I know it won’t last long as there will be debates over the new head coach in a couple of months. But I’m going to just enjoy this. Long post so I apologize in advance. We may not win anymore games this season and I am ok with that. The trash needed to be taken out. Caddy will be a great leader of the guys. My son is a senior in high school. In his four years of playing football, he’s had 6 head coaches. Yes you read that right… 6. They had a few coaches quit on them. One even quit 2 weeks before fall camp. Fortunately, each year we’ve had parents who were assistant coaches step up and fill in. Our football program suffered and morale was low. This year when the coach left two weeks before fall camp, my son emailed the AD of his school and asked for a specific assistant coach to be named interim head coach for the season. He stated in his email that the coach was respected, trusted and loved by the players. The AD listened and convinced that coach to take over. This was the best decision my son’s high school AD ever made. This coach got the program back on track and we actually were in contention for the playoffs this year. We came up short because our QB got hurt and lost a must win game 2 weeks ago. My point in this long post is sometimes it’s not all about the Xs and Os. Sometimes it’s who the players can get behind and execute those Xs and Os. I think Coach Caddy is that Coach. Let’s get behind Coach Caddy and stay behind him the rest of the way no matter the outcomes.
