If they had uh, come a little bit sooner he wouldn’t be in this situation. We got no major roster changes to suggest anyone is gonna be defending his honor any harder than last season.

Maybe give the players more than one season in a new scheme, and we can discuss how they performed. I'm not saying that anything that took place in the last 5 games of the season was championship caliber play, but I don't think you can judge a guy and his team on their first year together. I'm not trying to stir the pot, just throwing my opinion out there.

    I didn’t say all that.

Lol. I mean, I know YOU didn't; it's just my honest feelings about the situation. Money talks and bull**** walks. They can't find the dirt they want to fire with cause, so they're not going to write the check. That's the manure walking. I can smell it.

I am trying to hold any judgment of the university until tomorrow. I am finding it very hard to remain patient. The longer this goes on, the more likely it is that Harsin is retained. If you want to fire him, Just DO It and pay the man. Do it quietly and move on. I’m not sure how anyone can say that this has been handled properly. The longer it goes on, the more it looks like all of the “PTB conspiracy theorists” were right from the beginning. The perception now is that they just don’t want to stroke the check. This is exactly why buyout clauses are in contracts. It’s to discourage knee jerk reactions and firing coaches in only one year. Seems to be working as intended.

The longer this goes on, the more the coup is legitimized. Moneymen can't nail anything down and want to smear Harsin's name so bad that they can't stand it. Form everything we've seen with the current roster, they are rallying around him and the chip on their shoulder going into this fall with be enormous. CFB watch out. They're coming.

Not sure if its been talked about but if so please forgive my post. I had a question though for all you legal beagles out there.  I saw two things that raised an eyebrow. First:

The law firm that is investigating Harsin is the Birmingham based firm Lightfoot, Franklin, & White. Elizabeth Huntley, who is a current member of the BoT at Auburn, is a senior attorney at the firm.

    Second:

Ron Burgess, Executive Vice President of Auburn,  who recently set up camp in the athletics department is also on the Board of Trustees of Great Southern Wood. Great Southern Wood is Jimmy Ranes company who also serves on Auburn BoT  and is one of it's biggest boosters.

To me this could be a case of conflicting interest and in some cases nepotism. This whole thing feels like a witch hunt and if Harsin is let go for cause do you feel this could come up if he were to fight this in court?

I brought some of this up in a previous post earlier today. I'm more than convinced that it's all a giant coup. Add in the fact that the Governor appointed Yella Fella as her campaign manager, and it gets even sketchier.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck....................

  5. I can’t be the only one who finds it more than coincidental that Burgess is on the board at GSW, a higher up at AU, was moved to the athletics program three years ago to oversee what AG is doing. On top of that, Jimmy Rane is the richest man in Alabama, the largest donor to AU, and serves on the BoT. Oh, and let’s not forget that our sitting governor, Kay Ivey, appointed Jimmy Rane to run her reelection campaign.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck……..it might be a coup.

    uummmm, no.

Harsin is not the idiot that some on the board make him out to be:   He would not risk losing his whole coaching staff!   If he fired a team member from the coaching staff who was doing great ("positive feedback"), he would not have the support from others and would lose his staff.   Look at the retention he had at Boise.  Harsin is a strong leader, not chicken sHiiite.

Also - Harsin is not an imbecile and gave Corn positive feedback when he can't get 2-3 WRs on the field when the game is on the line!  Coach Corn has had 9 months to read and comprehend the playbook.  9 months....what 7-8 receivers?  We had a transfer QB ON THE FIELD, in the moment, calling to Coach Corn to send on another WR.  TJ has had the playbook what 45 days?  Let that sink in....  a 19 yr old kid who got here 1 August, in the moment with the game on the line,  knew more than the WR coach did!

Lastly, Harsin built some redundancy into this staff by hiring the Keisaw guy who could do a lot of things. This cat was the #1 analyst for Kiffen at bama and Sark's OC at Washinton.    Keesaw is much more experienced that Corn.

I think Harsin probably did the right thing by hiring a local coach and giving him a chance, because of his recruiting connections.  Nobody expected the WR room and coach to be such a debacle.  Inexperienced?  100%, but these are issues that we had in the Spring.

The season can be salvaged at this point.  Harsin  made a gutsy call, and could by stockpiling talented coaches.   Will it turn out?   We don't know yet.
