Agree. When (and maybe before) he retires Auburn will name (in some form or fashion) the basketball facility after him. Maybe the Pearl Palace at Neville Arena? He will get recognized for what he has done for AU basketball. Steven will be the next coach. Auburn will sign a deal with Nike. And we will get a basketball only practice facility. All of this is in the works as the powers that be at AU know what is needed and necessary for us to take the next steps in making AU a true powerhouse in basketball.
Auburn has been too good to Bruce and his family for him to head to IU or anywhere else at this stage of his life. And of course Bruce has been great for AU too. Of all the coaches I have witnessed in my 65 years of following college sports Bruce Pearl is the most appreciative I have ever seen. He's got it good at AU and he knows it. I'm not the least bit worried.
Couldn't have said it better myself. This is essentially exactly what I said to my FIL (a die-hard UConn fan, but also roots for Auburn for me) when he sent me a CBS Sports article saying that CBP was the top target of various HC openings (I think Ohio State, Louisville, and Indiana but I don't quote me on that).

Wish we'd just swallow whatever pride we have and hire him back. IDGAD whose jimmies he rustled, Cam Coleman is the type of recruit you do whatever. It. Takes. To land. ANY bad taste from the last two games would instantly be washed down.
What is actually the story with him? I vaguely remember reading a little about it back when it happened, but I had other things going on in life so I wasn't really paying as much attention to it as I typically would. I don't recall any of the details now, though.

Are we still actively recruiting LJ McCray? I have seen him pop on Twitter a couple times and didn’t know if he was still a possibility.
I came in here wondering the same thing.

I miss Farley . What does this equate to class rankings wise ?
On 247 it would put us at #3 (behind Georgia and Ohio State) with 26 commits and 290.04 points.
*EDIT* And that's without Ryan because he's still classified as a '25 kid, so I can't add him to the class calculator.

The number one thing for me is no turnovers. Then I'd say establishing the run game and spreading out the D to get some yards through the air. On the other side of the ball, it's definitely our D line and LBs keeping their QB in check when he tries to run the ball.

41-28 Good Guys
Cal comes out hot but our defensive adjustments take care of business. And Cal gets one last TD in garbage time making the game look slightly closer than it is.

Making the trip down for Ole Miss. It'll be my 3-year old son's first time there and he's dying to meet Aubie!

Did it sound like it involved JHS?

Good to see but I can't help but have that same anxiety as Pablo. I like our chances against UT and MSU though, especially for a position we're really in need of.

@CT Tiger 3 team race & Miami might be #2 right now. AU likely has more than a slight lead ATM IMO.
Oh wow that's the first I'm hearing of Miami making a push. Thanks!

We have missed out on Cam Scott to Texas and the big man to Kansas. Who are the next targets the staff is making a priority? I don't understand why Pearl and staff did not make Scott a priority. Philon, who decomitted, is trending towards Ole Miss. For the last two years, it seems as if this staff puts all their eggs in one basket and continue to get burned. They did the same thing with the Center that ended up signing with Arkansas. What's next?
To be fair, Philon's primary recruiter was Wes Flanigan and he's likely following him to Ole Miss. I agree we should have went after Cam Scott harder, but Bidunga's CBs to us seemingly came out of nowhere. Although we didn't get him (outbid at the last moment from what I understand), it showed that CBP and his team are putting in work, even if it may be in the shadows. The fact that we came that close to landing him while already having a stud 5 star committed shows how far we've come in the last decade. The PTB will still prioritize football over basketball when it comes to NIL budget (which is fine), but we will need to see them willing to put up the $$ when it comes to the TOP basketball prospects like Flory. Just my 2c.

Hope he's right! J Lee has been pretty solid this recruiting cycle from what I have seen. Definitely seems like it's an AU/TN battle with us having a flight edge. 60/40 maybe?

Personally, I put them at number two just below 247. I check both regularly though because those two are my gold standards.

No--yeah, I agree; you're right. Been burned way too many times by Saban and his staff.
But PT choosing Big Cat Weekend over Bama's competing cookout is a great sign so let me smoke my hopium 🙃

I do think that, without some form of control, recruiting is turning into what many of us predicted it would become, nothing but a case of the richest schools buying the top guys and the rest of us fighting over what's left.
I'd argue that it already has to a larger-than-most-would-like-to-admit extent. Unless(until?) the rules change to rein in the wild west that is NIL, we just need to support our collective as best as possible and hope that our boosters are all on the same page and play nicely.
With that said, I think we can flip Coleman from aTm (assuming OTV can match or come close to matching the $).
-
This ain't over til' it's over. I haven't read through the whole thread, but I am assuming this is a money thing. I think OTV will do what they can to flip him but I suspect they won't really ratchet up the pressure until after we flip Perry Thompson.

Pardon my ignorance but what is the NTY collective? I am familiar with On To Victory (OTV), but what does NTY stand for and what's the history behind it? Thanks!
