  1. I have to agree with Stat we have no other viable options at QB. Willis could play a couple of series but the results would be the same. The offensive line can not run or pass block and have not improved all year long. We really have no options at running back that would be considered an every down back. Poor recruiting and coaching has placed us in a big deep hole and it’s going to take time to crawl out of it.
  2. The problem in my humble opinion is that no one on the offense coaching staff knows how to correct the problems. We have a QB that is shell shocked trying not to get hit and throwing the ball as quickly as he can. This has his accuracy way off. The offensive line has been ignored in recuriting for several years and really has not been developed at all. The offensive line still seems confused about their assignments and our tackles cannot handle any quick DE. Our RBs are small backs we don't have the big power back. This combined with offense line problems and Gus's stubbornness that he is going to run up the middle doesn't work. In no way should it take a couple of quarters to figure that out.
  3. Does it really matter who is calling the plays? The offensive line is a mess, is it poor execution, bad recruiting, bad coaching or all the above but it is getting worse every game. Until that problem is corrected then the rest is just window dressing. Our receivers still run basic routes and very few come back to QB when he is scrambling. We won't even go into the lack of imagination in the play calling because until o-Line is fixed there is no time for a play to develop.
  4. In a way this game was on the coaches. KJ was nowhere near ready to play and none of the other RB were ready to play due to no playing time during the year. There was no adjustments made from the first game, but I agree the players were flat. They had expended to much energy over past few weeks.
  5. Thanks I always enjoy reading your insights to the game. However, I feel that now Gus has to go or this program will only get worse until it becomes totally irrelevant. Gus is not a P5 coach or assistant coach he really does not understand adjustments that need to be made during a game. Carlton has not shown the promise he did his freshman year but then again he has had a different secondary coach every year. Not sure what the rest of the year holds but I do not believe Gus will change.
  6. After rewatching the game our defense were taking bad angles and getting back to arm tackling. I know the game was out of reach but that is the time to work of things and get some younger players time to play. The offense was very predictable and reminded me of last years plat calling. If we are going to do that then put Willis in and let him play and run the whole playbook. Just really do not understand Gus mind set on this but then again I am not a coach.
  7. If that happens Gus better have United van lines on speed dial.
  8. Chip is not calling the plays Gus was the one with play card in making the calls. Chip said he was brought in to add some passing to Gus's offense. An offense which hasn't worked to past few seasons.
  9. I guess this will stop saban from grayshirting these kids at the last minute.
  10. i don't know whether to be excited or not but if this is coach that Gus wants then all of need to take a deep breath and support his decision. For people on this site to say this hire will result in Gus being fired at the end of next season doesn't add up. It seems like they are openly hoping are team fails and I really don't comprehend that mentality. I hope CCL succeeds in turning around our QB's and transforms our offense to a more balanced attack. If Gus choose to limit CCL input and they fail then it's on Gus and he will reap what he sows. But thinking this hire is going cause Gus and his staff to be dismissed I just can't get there from here.
  11. i just believe these young men deserve an apology from Gus and Rhett for the plan they put together and both need to donate there pay check this week to some charity because they did not earn it.
  12. After that performance it should be this year. We will have started the season 1-2 and we will end it 1-2.
  13. No it wasn't but with no tall receivers and no tight end hard to pass in red zone.
  14. Agree with Jessie Palmer we don't have any tall receivers to go up and get the ball in end zone.
  15. Hopefully United van lines for both jay and Gus
