Yeah I think not running it was more predicated on preserving time than anything else. New Mexico State played it perfectly. Their goal was to run clock. It’s classic strategy when you are (supposedly) outmatched. Â
Whoever thought it was smart to let them have the ball first…
I was thinking the same thing. We won the toss and deferred. We absolutely should have taken the ball first. That set the tone right away

Would probably just lead to more no calls, but something needs to be done.Â
Fine them for missed calls too. They're failing at their job. They need incentive to do better. Will never happen though... In NCAAF or NFL. Controversy boosts viewershipÂ

Refs should be fined for bad callsÂ

Oh boy. The name calling here has started. We are already in mid-season formÂ

Freeze is trying to kill clock to save embarrassmentÂ

Who would have thought that Liberty's head coach would put us in this position?Â

This game screams bad coachingÂ

The decision to drop back and pass in that situation gave me Harsin flashbacks

Refs blowing calls.
QB overthrowing wide open receivers.

I would encourage you to go look up Saban’s record at Michigan St. or Frank Beamer’s record at VaTech his first few years. Context of the situation a coach inherits is important to consider.Â
HF the next Nick Saban confirmed.Â

Allegedly, Cohen was the one who found the dirt on Freeze originally and made his OM stuff public info. I don’t know the truth of that, but that’s what I’ve heard. Not sure of that makes this better or worse…
Great. They should have a very healthy working relationshipÂ

We essentially fired Gus to hire Hugh. Let that sink in.Â

Shoulld never have put us in the position to rely on the refs.
Yep. Touch or not, that was a bad play by the receiverÂ

If we don’t start putting some kind of pressure on him, he’ll pick us apart.
Well that’s not going to happen so…

They aren’t gonna risk ruining that kid for no reason with a crap O-line in a disaster of a season. If Caddy thinks he’s the best option to win he will play, otherwise Robby is our best viable option for the immediate future.Â
Not entirely sure how giving him reps “ruins” him. I guess we’ll never know if he was the better option, but the alt gave the ball away three times tonight.Â

None of those teams made me cry tears when they took the field. Tonight I absolutely did.
Again, its EASY to be proud when we win. But seeing AU get off the mat and show some fight despite the season we've had is like a dad being proud of his kid for pushing forward despite obstacles. It hits different.
It was a huge and emotional win for our program, I’ll agree with you there. We all have good reason to be excited about the future. War EagleÂ

Despite those missed calls, we had chances to win. Any other DC in college football with a brain would understand the value of pass rush on 4th and 30.Â
