several are fishy and one cat was talking about gus' "demise". i thought it was his coaching but i am not sure if he was saying he wanted gus to drop dead or something. if it was the later it was pretty bad and i am ashamed thee are auburn fans out there that think like that. and i understand people getting angry but good grief.
This would get us out of his contract?

I’ve coached 70lbs, 80lbs, 90lbs, 100lbs and 110lbs football teams. Two of my teams made it to the “toys for tots” bowl. I’ve coached numerous kids who went on to make All County in high school. If I didn’t know anything about football, then I wouldn’t have the accolades that come with success as a coach now would I?
Save this post.....Auburn will put up over 35 on Saturday.

I'm out of likes so I'll just let you know I chuckled ? FTR though, I'm not really a newb. I've posted over here under a half dozen usernames in the last 6-8 years.

I’ve never coached PE and I’m not a school teacher. Your trying to insult someone by calling them a PE coach? LMAO! Did you come up with that all by yourself or did you have help?
Imma put this conversation on hold until we go 10-2.

You didn’t answer the question.
Played the game, read a ton of books, watched a couple 1000 games, hung out with college coaches and picked their brains, etc. I never coached PE though, so I guess I don't know anything about football.

You don’t coach, but you sit around studying the game? Interesting! Did you read “football for dummies”? Do you DVR games and rewatch them? Exactly how do you study the game? I can’t wait to read this BS.
LOL. A glorified PE coach is going to give me crap about my knowledge of the game while holding this OL up against championship caliber teams. This day just keeps getting better.

Except Sal's not a TE anymore.
There's no such thing in Gus' offense.

I know what I am talking about. I’ve actually coached football before. Have you?
No, haven't coached a lick. However I've watched and studied the game for 35 years and can tell you, without doubt, that this offensive line and the injuries we've already had will not produce a 10-2 season. It's the worst OL play I've seen since 2012, if not further back. I have watched USM all season, and have watched them practice, and we should've been able to man up and whip their DL. I'd kill for 5 Robert Leff's right now.

He had 3 catches last game.
Probably the most in one game for an AU TE since Lutz.

I do not believe one poster has ever given me so much reason to ignore everything they ever have to say due to one post in my entire life. That one was a doozy though.

No I mean like Kevin Steele’s comment after the USM game where even though his team did a good job most of the game he was not happy with the few minutes they returned after the delay and before the half. And ( and this is the import part you should pay attention to) like a real coach owned the problem because the buck stops with him on defense. But that’s ok you just keep defending Gus until the point we have to fire him. How hard is it for people to understand there is a reason he makes 7 million a year. To put a great program on the field . If he is going to continue to put a second rate program on the field and so called fans like you are going to accept this excuse for a good job then I’m sure we can hire some run of the mill coach that can accomplish that.
You bring up one of my biggest points of contention with Gus. I don't recall him ever taking responsibility for the play on the field. It's always about the player's needing to execute better and never taking ownership of being responsible for making that happen or recruiting ones capable of doing so.

Kam would tear it up with the line we had last year as well as any other OL in the conference
You might be right. I don't feel strongly enough about it to argue. He certainly is capable of being 1000 yard back behind a normal OL, but that's not saying what it used to before the 12th game and bowl stats counting.

I've coached against one of them
If you're talking about BOOBEE, I agree he's above average. Asa is definitely above average, though I still cringe at the Caddy comparisons until I see him earn them. Malik Miller is a HB and Kam Martin would tear it up at Jacksonville State.

I am tempted to blame Hand as well. Hand has a poor history as a player developer, and Grimes has a stronger record as a player developer.
In terms of pure talent, we are above average. Many of our 2-deep are rated at least 4 star by one of the recruiting services.
Can Grimes turn this around?
Why blame Hand. Hand didn't hire himself. Above average in the SEC? No, hahaha.
Also, no. He can't turn this around. He's as responsible for this OL situation as anyone besides Gus.

You don't know that at all. Put Damien Harris behind this OL and what would he look like? Put Kam or Boobee behind UA, UGA, UK, LSU OL and what would they look like. You can't show what you can do when constantly getting hit in the backfield or having to hurdle your center who has been knocked on his back. Zero push and zero lanes will make any back look pedestrian.
I agree with this. Our RBs are very average.

No offense meant at all, but do you mind breaking down how next year's OL, RB, and QB positions are "heading in the right direction"?
