  1. I'm feeling the excitement from everyone this year. New coach, new attitude. So while we wait for the nip to be called we can pass the time making stupid bold predictions like we try to do every year around this time. The rules are simple: Make a bold prediction about the season that you have a gut feeling about, but most people might disagree - and/or think you are crazy for believing. And start those predictions with "Mark My Word" because you are sure about it, no apologies. This is a rule: Don't debate or flame other posters' predictions on this thread, it is just for the predictions. Another rule: Don't make a wimpy prediction that everyone either knows or agrees with because, well, that would suck. Exception to the rules: flaming will be allowed if you make a wimpy prediction. So predict anything about the season: AU football, rivals' football, AU Family (and the members), and even the Nip. No politics please! My predictions from last year didn't pan out. I'm not going to revisit them here, but here's mine for this year. Mark My Word: Auburn upsets Georgia in front of a sold out Jordan Hare stadium - although Georgia still makes the SECCG. Mark My Word: Alabama loses three games this year, Saban announces retirement after the final loss in their bowl game.
  2. For me it was the "Prayer at Jordan-Hare" game in 2013 against Georgia. I was seated high up in the stands, and there were four Georgia fans behind me (two couples, probably close to 1000 pounds total) who were acting rude as hell the entire fourth quarter. When the pass was made - based on my seating location - it went from my left to my right and I could tell the trajectory was off. But it bounced off the Georgia defenders and into Louis's hands and the crowd went crazy - I had never felt a rumbling in that stadium like I did that day. I turned to give the Georgia fans a hard time but they had slipped out during the chaos.
  3. Ok, reminder of the rules here Mikey, Bird, et al... Some of you will be kicked out of the thread and forced to sit out half of the next thread. Just sayin'
  4. Here we go again. While we wait for the nip to be called we can pass the time making stupid bold predictions. The rules are simple: Make a bold prediction about the season that you have a gut feeling about, but most people might disagree - and/or think you are crazy for believing. And start those predictions with "Mark My Word" because you are sure about it, no apologies. Don't debate or flame other posters' predictions on this thread, it is just for the predictions. Another rule: Don't make a wimpy prediction that everyone either knows or agrees with because, well, that would suck (and it's the only time flaming is allowed). Predict anything about the season, AU football, AU Family (and the members), and even the Nip. No politics please! Here's a couple of mine from last year: So let's hear your wildest and craziest predictions! Here's mine: Mark My Word: Auburn beats both Texas A&M and Bama this year. That's right, you heard me. Mark My Word: (as if the one above wasn't enough) It stays so hot that @WarTim delays the Nip till next year.
  5. My son played last year but gave it up this year - band practice takes up a lot of time in the fall. His class load is too much right now for him to sacrifice all that time. I do miss seeing him in that uniform.
  6. Ok here it is from the originator of the Mark My Word thread. Just FYI I have no problems with someone else starting it; in fact it’s nice to see that this tradition would live on even if I no longer posted on this board (I seldom post anyway, more of a lurker). Between family, job, and a kid currently at Auburn, I’m a busy guy and don’t have a lot of time to hang out on the interwebs. All that said, here we go: Mark My Word: This is the year that one of Saban’s disciples finally beats him. Could be Kiffin or Fisher, maybe Kirby in the SECCG; in any case it happens. Mark My Word: Auburn beats Penn State and Georgia this year. LSU too, but that’s too easy of a prediction. Mark My Word: Next year I start the Mark My Word thread right after media days. And I’ll go all Shaun Shivers helmet knocking on any person that beats me to it. 😎
  7. I thought it was too early to start it. I’ll call The Nip instead.
  8. Get a Honda. They run forever, and they are low maintenance. Edit: about $20 more than your budget, but will be worth it in the long run Honda push mower at Lowes
  9. MAC Championship: NIU (6) FRIDAY GAME!! Fresno St SATURDAY GAMES SEC Championship: GA (6) Big XII Champsionship: TX (6) ACC Championship: VaTech (6) Conf USA Championship: UCF (6) Navy (5) USC (5) West Va (3)
  10. SEC West Order of Finish Auburn LSU Alabama Arkansas Mississippi St Ole Miss SEC East Order of Finish Florida Tennessee Georgia South Carolina Vanderbilt Kentucky SEC Champs: Auburn National Champs: Auburn (You gotta believe!) Auburn Touchdowns: 53
