  1. True; but I don't kow may H.S. coaches that would sit on a lead as early as the second quarter. Not to mention at a place where you're team/college has an embarrasing losing streak.
  2. How on God's green earth can a D1 level HC think "going conservative" in the 2nd quarter is an effective strategy? Malzahn's thinking defies all logic.
  3. This speaks volumes about Kodi Burns ability to demand excellence. One or two fumbles is one thing; but this stat is absurd. Kodi may be a great person and and a great Auburn man but that doesn't translate to a great WR coach; or even a good one. I know his tenure doesn't encompass the entire '08-'12 timeframe but I think we have suffered long enough. He was a nepotism hire with little experience and sadly is now in over his head...IMO.
  4. PVHS...My alma mata. With Coach Pat Nix at the helm and Bo at QB this season could be very special. Go Indians and War Eagle!!
  5. No doubt. My Stepbrother's son(my nephew) is the QB for Bartram's JV team and unofficial 3rd string Varsity QB. He was on the sideline tonight charting offensive plays. I know he had to be thinking: "What the?" when they didn't put JG in on the goaline. That was a very winable game for all the reasons y'all have already mentioned. On a side note: I loved seeing JG wear the AU towel the whole game. WDE
  6. I know....^^I accidentally reposted this response which was orignally to a post earlier in this thread.^^
  7. Exactly. That's the impression I've been given. The coach may be fully aware of the raw QB talent JG has; but is making his decision based on what's best for his team overall. No matter what position JG ends up playing at Auburn; he will shine. WDE

  9. My stepbrother's son(my nephew in a sense) will be a Freshman at Bartram and told me pretty much the same thing. Gatewood is playing behind a seasoned senior QB and they are using his versatility to at various positions to the fullest. I think it's quite premature to right him off as a quality QB at this point.
  10. Thanks E and 23. Monday's recruitment seems to have spaked the recruiting flame. It should be a fun July!!
  11. FYI I'm a newly reinstated member. Well actually I used to post on the old disbanded, now defunct, Auburn Eagle site. Honestly, I'll probably do more surfing/reading here than actual posting. But I'll give my 2 cents often enough. So here is hearty.... War Eagle!!
  12. I've the heard same. He plays for Pinson Valley High; my old high school. I was over joyed when I heard Pat Nix was was hired there and then that his son, an "all world" high school QB, will be starting this year. So this will be an exciting football season for me on two fronts.
  13. When is said picnic scheduled for please Sir? I want to be on the watch for Hill's commitment.
