I just don't understand how SEC coaches are ok with the total trash officiating every single game. The best part of march madness is getting to play games without SEC "officials".

Somebody definitely needs to take a look at the clowns calling a lot of these games because they are beyond bad.

I actually thought we would have some news tonight . Nope. I hope we have a mystery candidate.

It would just about have to be someone else other than Kiffin or Durkin or Arnett at this point. if it were any of them, it more than likely should have been a done deal and announced by now.

  3. This feels like it's taking way too long to make this hire. I mean, the only 2 names i've really seen are Kiffin and Durkin, if it's between those 2 it shouldn't take this long to decide. It seems like other schools always have someone named within a few days of the position going open.

I’ve heard his buyout stipulates if he’s not calling plays, it’s substantial. Not sure if that’s true, but Lane’s tweet suggests it is.

Ok, but why though? Is Nix that important to Lane's staff? seems like an odd stipulation to add to someone's contract if they're not even calling plays or named OC at the current Job.

Lane really laying into this.  Borderline shook  Nix is our #1 guy...guess we're trying to figure the contract out

What's the point of him doing this? Nix isn't the OC there and doesn't call plays there either. He's the AHC/WR Coach. why does it matter if he's named OC/RB coach here but not calling plays. Lane is an idiot.

I mean was Kevin Steele unavailable? Perhaps that guy from the Waterboy , Farmer Fran?

Do you really want a guy back on the staff that tried to stab his boss in the back and take his job? i sure as hell don't. let KS stay wherever he's at.

You should read more about it before you become reactive. Even Baylor fans have no clue why he was fired based on what I am seeing.

The article linked stated that he was Aranda's mentor. He originally hired Aranda to work under him when he was HC at another gig. then roles reversed and he was working under Aranda at Baylor. maybe some clashing egos?

Although hearsay, this is why Freeze wasn't the best hire in the world. He has zero leverage and the boosters know it. The fact we have a bunch of position coaches hired before even hiring coordinators is probably a symptom of this. Other coaches and players see this and can easily use it to paint a chaotic picture before we even get started. We need to get this staff finished out and get it together ASAP.

people keep saying this about hiring the position coaches first, but it doesn't make sense. once a staff is already in place, you don't fire assistants every time you change coordinators, so it shouldn't make a difference to start with either. i think it just seems like the coordinators get hired first, but isn't and shouldn't always be the case.

Kelly was hired 2 days ago.

Yes, i stated that in another post when someone was asking which Kelly. He went to Colorado with Sanders but some folks are saying that it's not official yet because Kelly supposedly wants the DC job here and supposedly Rane wants him to be the DC here, but Freeze supposedly wants Arnett.

  10. Saw somebody say that Freeze wants Arnett but his 2mil buyout is a sticking point and that Rane is wanting Kelly but Freeze doesn't want him, so they're having a stalemate atm. this is just what i read, so take it with a huge grain of salt.

According to JGT on Rivals, Kelly and TWill were our top 2 at DC (or at least the ones that he Knows were interviewed for the job). Either we found someone else - which has not been announced for some reason - or we are not winning these coaching battles.

Let us see who he names in the next two days. If we do not have a DC coach by Friday, then we are in trouble. we have OVs this weekend.

Like I said, it's pretty much gotta be one of the 2 reasons. I don't personally believe there's any strategic advantage to not announce otherwise. either we have our guy or we're still looking.

  12. At this rate, either the hires have already been made and we're just waiting to announce since the hires may have current obligations, or CHF is getting turned down by multiple coaches for other jobs. i don't really see what the holdup is unless it's one of those 2 reasons and if it's the second reason, then that's not a good look at all.
