Ashford seems to have same skill set as DD... Really makes u wonder why DD doesn't seem to be getting any chance of starting.

6" height difference listed in their bios? Not that I agree it tells the whole story, but metrics can be looked at just like star gazing for some. Though, I'd have to imagine that the coaching staff is seeing something negative related to it... or at least you'd hope, if they are truly moving on...

  2. Nothing wrong with the OP opinion. I don't see it that way, though. Would this be acceptable behavior in the gym of a 5* recruit during a game to cheer his team on? Surely not. But there, at that particular football game, in that specific instance? I just wasn't surprised when I scrolled across it on Twitter. I smiled and thought, "Wow, these kids gotta love playing for him!" In my opinion it was the appropriate time for him to do something like that, but under other circumstances I probably would have thought differently.

I also don't see him "trying" to act like the kids at the expense of not being the adult in the room, though I get the point of the other poster. The product on the court indicates to me that he is absolutely respected by his players, he is their leader they trust completely, and these moments let them know he can relate to them and he loves being around them. You can't fake that with the players, they'd see right through him. He is absolutely what the basketball team needs and I'm so glad we have him!!! WDE!!!

I really dont know if we see him or not.  I do know that pass he threw to Shenker when he was in the game was a beauty, with a ton of zip and hit him perfectly in stride.  We got tacked with a 15 yard penalty on it, then the drive stalled.

Listening to a podcast, and I did not notice this during the game and may have missed it, but after his series was TJ sitting on the bench with a towel over his head?  Compared to Bo being visible on the sideline cheering him on?

IIRC, what I saw was: yes, he had a towel over his head and didn't necessarily look thrilled but it wasn't in the head hung completely hidden by thy towel kind of way that the media has loved to focus on regarding Cam in the NFL. Looked to me the same way my kids drape a cold wet towel over there head on the sidelines when they're hot. I didn't take much from it. So what if he wasn't thrilled; good as far as I'm concerned! Stay hungry!

Not even close to where we want to be or need to be overall, and I know those stats are padded by those first two games... but I *love* the distribution and yards per catch relative to what we've been used to.

Yeah, I like to watch the box score on ESPN.com throughout the game and, regardless of the competition, It's been a welcome sight to see how many players show up with stats under "receiving".

Shenker is our reception leader 5 games in. Would anyone have guessed that?

Not I, but it is GLORIOUS nonetheless!!!🤩

Don't get me wrong though, we're likely gonna need another receiver to overcome that stat if we want to win on Saturday (looking at you K Hud), but I can appreciate JSS effort and our coaching staffs willingness to involve the TE!

  6. I was 19, first year at Auburn. Honestly didn't care much about the football team at the time. I was too interested in enjoying being out of my parents house and partying every night. I remember the game happening vaguely... for multiple reasons! It would be my second year at AU, when I was able to get student tickets and witness a game from the student section for the first time, that my fandom really cemented itself. Married and have two sons, 10 and almost 8 yr. old, now. Oh the things that have happened over the last 22ish years!

    boisterous

I knew someone who went to the 2003 Capital One Bowl. He said even though the PSU fans out-numbered them 70-30 and were very boisterous in their "WE ARE!", he said after Ronnie Brown scored the game-clincher, the Auburn fans were giving the "WE ARE!" back to them as they filed out.

I hope those AU fans attending this year get to experience the same outcome! The 2021 AU Twitter-Verse is doing their part and taking #WeAre to a whole nother level...😤

On a side note, how do you embed the tweet on this forum? I've tried it multiple ways and either get nothing posted or just the long link. I've googled how to do it and it seems easy enough from Twitter's side. Just click the "..." and copy the embed link, but when I go to add it to my comment and/or post it, it doesn't show up like a tweet. I usually feel like a relatively intelligent person, but this is making me feel really ignorant!🤣

Man this week is going as slow as a snail

Ha! Last night I was certain it was Thursday and told my two young sons we could watch a little of the NFL game before they had to go to bed. I was so excited that today was going to be Friday and only a day away from the AU game! Well, I was sorely disappointed when there were no games listed on ESPN's website and soon realized it was Wednesday...🤬

The annual sh*tstorm Auburn fights through and still make a legit run at the almighty every third year, either win it all or be snubbed twice a decade- need to honor the fifty-year media darling just because they have the same old helmet and that .500 Michigan State record? I'm past middle age and I don't remember s*** about Penn State except how good they are in the pre-season. That and when I go there I'm always suprised at the pasty white unshaven bear-s*** eating women they have up there my goodness. Look. Tell us which 7/11 to park at and which Academy tent has the best yams or whatever then get the hell out. This game is a tossup. We know you have a big stadium and you love your team. Everything else you say is automatic bull****.

I TRULY appreciate the fervor in your delivery! Carry on good sir and War Damn!!

Sitting on the sun porch this morning at 4:30 am. It really has been a week long process. The HS band doing a fundraiser. They actually played the AU fight song!!  Neighbor fired up his smoker. Storm laid a nice carpet of leaves on the lawn. But what put me over the top was the cool breeze and 62 degree temp. So…..Rejoice I say Rejoice!! The Nip was officially declared at 4:36 am EDT on this day of our Lord 9/1/21. The Auburn Tigers are preparing for the season ,God is in His Heaven, and all is right with the World!!!

Still 80 degrees at 4:30 this morning on the gulf coast but good to see it's happening elsewhere. Looks like we'll get some mid 70 overnight temps in the next few days and that'll start feeling a little like fall, for around here anyway.
