Carnell played for my old alma mater, the Etowah Blue Devils. My hometown is Attalla. I have always admired his accomplishments. I hope whoever the new coach is, that he keeps Caddy.

If he was that bad then kids like Wooten wouldn't have stayed and played and so on and so forth is what I was told when I tried to speak up about stuff....
Look, its Auburn man. The culture is AU, you don't have to add to much, its AU. And you don’t get hired without great a resume'. Right? Harsin is not a bad person. He just is in over his head and had some bad luck with COVID, the depth chart and making bad coordinator choices.

We don't know the ins and outs of this. I think the players at this time can't transfer. They can only go in the portal. They can come back with the new coach. I wonder though if their NIL money is cut. I don't think this is a big deal. Harsin is just saying play for the team or not and it won't hurt Auburn. These players will certainly stay if they think they will get playing time with the next coach.
Okay I must chime in now. I played college football, and I can tell you that you just don't walk into a coaches office and tell him I want to redshirt. I doesn't work like that, its not your choice. The season is still going.

That’s the rate limited step from what I’m seeing. Caddy, Ike, Zac I think will stick around. His other buddies…bye.
This supports my though that Ike should be the interim coach.

We need to hire an SEC level Athletic Director and let him do his job. He doesn't need to be managed by some overpowered compliance officer, or some booster-installed watchdog.
Even if we had hired Smart, he would have taken that Georgia job. We are big on building these Frankenstein monsters that are obviously conceived outside of the AD and it always eventually falls apart. Chizik was a solid football mind and coordinator that had stumbled at his first coaching job. Someone decided to give him an all-star staff of street agent recruiters and a hotshot OC and it worked...until he decided he wanted control and the players became a disciplinary nightmare and finally quit on him. Gus was great until changes in rules effectively destroyed his offensive advantage. I feel like caring about defense was basically forced on him and he and his offensive staff were terrible at roster management.
If we had a professional AD, we could look at a bigger picture instead of just jumping at whatever quick fix we think will fast-track us to competing with Georgia and bama. We need to hire a head coach with that big picture thinking that can sell the program to fans, media, his staff and players. We need a staff pulling in one direction, that can successfully recruit to that direction and understands our challenges in the areas we recruit. Harsin talked a lot of this game, but he came and did mostly the opposite. That's on Greene. We need better than Greene this time and we need to let that AD make the hire.
Do I expect that to happen? Not a chance.
I think Greene saw the righting on the wall with Harsin and got the hell out of dodge!

Ike Hilliard for AD?

If it was me choosing...I would make Ike Hilliard the interim coach. Caddy second choice. WDE

Stoops is 1st
Okay, so why even hire someone from outside the SEC? We have been taking Bama's and UGA's coordinators and head coaches for like 100 years.
Let’s just keep going that way okay? Hiring within the SEC is definitely the way to go. But…
Lane is a douche
Prime time is the same – See the 1989 Sugar Dowl where he cheated, and we lost…
Muschamp? – total douche - yells to much like an idiot.

Pretty sure we will end up having a walk-on strat at QB in the Iron Bowl. 😕

Hard to argue against that ... Roberts has an opportunity to change things, at least to some degree ... we'll see. Leath was a disaster. Gogue, who did some good things, also did some not so great things - particularly, in his lame duck/fill-in tenure. A decade of Jay's leadership in Athletics was poor. AG ... I've beat that horse long enough. Our Board is trash. Boosters are who they are ... most AU folks I've met mean well and want what's best ... we just have to get some solid competent leadership. It's not been good for a while.
The strucure and the leadership define the possibilities. Just sayin...

Thanks for the objective response
The problem with AU right now is we have bad leadership from top to bottow. Pearl excluded.
