  1. The 2013 team was perhaps my favorite of all time to watch play. We would line up with the opposing defense knowing we were running the zone read and Nick would still run it for 20 yards. It was so exciting to watch such and explosive run offense. WDE

  2. I'm sure I'm a bit biased. But graduating highschool around the same time Cadillac Williams did I kept up with his recruiting pretty well. Granted it was before Saban but him being a top recruit coming to Auburn was no surprise. I've done a fair job of keeping up with Auburn recruiting in the years since and have never felt we couldn't compete with anyone for top players. Some recent of articles seem to give the impression that our plan is to try and beat Bama and Jawja with their leftovers. I think this is a horrible idea. I wanna see Auburn go after and sign the best players because the coaches can sell what I see in Auburn. It is the family, the Tiger Walk, rolling Toomers Corner, it's watching the eagle take flight before every home game, it's ultimately believing in Auburn and loving it!

  3. Not a good look

Surprised to see negative media about the Gumps on Al.com

Prostitution sting led to arrest of University of Alabama vice president, 14 others

The investigation that led to the arrest of Myron Pope, the vice president of student life at the University of Alabama, also landed 14 other people in jail, the authorities said Saturday.

Pope, who is also a former Crimson Tide football player, resigned after the West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force charged him with soliciting prostitution.

In a press release on Saturday, Capt. Phil Simpson, the task force commander, said 15 men were arrested on Thursday and Friday nights after arranging to pay for sex through an app. When the men arrived at an agreed upon location, they spoke with an undercover officer, Simpson said.

Too many people act like we weren't approximately 5 plays away from being 9-4. Texas A&M and Georgia are really the only 2 that we were pretty far from competing with and you have to figure we'd lose 2 others that we lost. It's not crazy to expect that we'll bounce back.

I don't disagree. And maybe when some new faces begin to stand out in practice reports it will be different, but I can't convince myself were gonna be as good as we were last year

Also is this our longest basketball game thread of the year? And it came in a loss? Why is that? It just feels Auburn fans get more out of losing than winning. And that is just sad man.

I didn't read but the first few and last page of comments so I do not know the context. I doubt anyone will deny this a special team. There aren't as many conflicting opinions in a win as most are pleased. It's easy for a fan such as me to come here and voice my opinion on how it could have been won with such a close game. Hindsight is 20/20, however.. WDE

  6. I realize my posts sometimes leave doubt. But in the end as long as it's not Satan himself I want whoever the coach of Auburn to be the best. However at the same time I'm not gonna let red flags fly by and let every scenario that discredits become facts to me. I hope we win a Natty next year or win more than all expect, but if we do no one can say that there was any reason for us fans to have been given hope so far.

Ifs and butts and stuff.  Look at sustained success.  I'd bank on the past 22 years we had 3 good season then a bunch of 8-5s and worse.  I think maybe 1 or 2 9 win season.  We are peaks and a ton of valleys and avg.  That's our 21st century.  LSU has had a lot of sustained success in recent history and that helps.

Okay. Well it's safe to say USC has had less success than us recently, but they can get better coaches because "it's a dream job". You can pick any school other than maybe one or two and the pros and cons of their program vs Auburn are not to far from level. Again the public view of how our program is dictated is possibly the biggest drawback of the job.

I doubt a HR hire head coach is sweating the ups and downs of a program if they are confident in their capabilities. Bama wasn't some dream job in 2007 so what is it about Auburn that makes it impossible for us to hire a hot name HC

If your intent was to just name 5 random coaches who were never going to AU, well that just seems kinda dumb...but OK

Pretty much all of those things outside the little brother/Alabama connection.  They have 3 titles in the last 20 years vs our 1.  They have certain advantages we don't, recruiting being one as you mentioned.

The topic was homerun hires and the post I responded to said so basically someone who doesn't exist until they do. Just bc they went going to AU they can still be homerun hires to me.  But.... OK.

So basically we are a shot at USC in 04 and 2 minutes in 2013 short of being the same?? The goal posts can be moved both ways. They are probably considered a better program by most but it's by a small margin I believe. Auburn has its benefits and vice versa. I'm just saying there isn't a logical reason that we can't hire a coach of the same caliber as they do without having to settle for a coach. Unless it's the way boosters are making it that hard. Which seems to be true.

Does Auburn ever go for them?

Seriously, does the Auburn Administration ever court an existing high profile HC and even try to pull him away from his job?  Rumor was that AU tried to court Christobal and he said no, but what other HC's besides Harsin did we go hard for?  Napier? Any NFL HC?

No that's my point tho. We should and realistically we should be able to do it successfully. Auburn has alot to offer even from an unbiased view. It's obvious the reputation we have with our boosters meddling with the program is our biggest turn off for an otherwise very well rounded program and institution.  But I never even finished getting my degree so heck what do I know.

PS Cole256 ask a mod how to ignore posts. When I did it, it obviously still let's mine be shown. Hate for ya to keep using all your daily reactions down voting every post I make. Cheers buddy.

That what they said about Saben to Bama and Walsh to Stanford.  So let's not try like we always do and go get our coach from the Sunbelt conference or high school or one of those other lesser conferences.

Ding ding ding!!!! Exactly!!! Isn't there a word for doing the same thing over and over expecting different results??

C'mon.  Those 1st two are jokes.  Neither of them would have ever ever ever left OU/ND, respectively, for Auburn.

I'm just showing examples of coaches that got a new job and immediately brought talent once they got there. Wether they would coach at AU is unknown. Tell me what makes LSU a much better job than Auburn? Less competition for in state recruiting?? Yeah that's bull. Everything from the fans to it's  location and all other catagories you can compare Auburn is very close to the top. So what makes it why these "Elite" coaches won't come to Auburn but they will go to a rival that is in just as bad of a mess living in the armpit of the county?? Welcome to the Little Brother Syndrome. Hey it's okay. It's JABA!! War Eagle

    Name them.

That way we can agree with you...or laugh at you.

Riley, Kelly, and Cristobal are 3 I feel that took a new job and instantly made the team better that took jobs this year. Kiffin was mentioned alot and Dabo I believe may could be lured away. And that's not counting coaches that I don't think can be hired from their current school

So basically guy who doesn't exist...

    Until he does...

I can think of at least 5 names being thrown around in the coaching carousel this year I feel like can make a positive impact the moment news breaks that they have took a new job

Why is it that most of this board is unhappy with Mason leaving when most of the board wanted him gone during the season? Honest question not trying to argue.

Seems like the narrative changed from firing Bobo and Mason to Bobo only because of the Iron Bowl.  I think most were tired of us getting picked apart rushing 3. That changed at the end
