  1. Houston actually plays defense. Going to be a big shock after playing Iowa.
  2. Houston is a lot better than Alabama (if Sasser is healthy).
  3. Congrats guys. One of us was going to get beat by 20 on Saturday. Wish it was us, but knew what to expect away from Carver. So tired of no defense/rebounding.
  4. ...and there is the Iowa road shooting team we all know and love.
  5. Game is being called tight. If our game is called similarly, it definitely favors Iowa.
  6. If it's called tight, that definitely favors Iowa.
  7. I think you could have an individual who knows more about both teams than anyone else in the entire world and they wouldn't be able to pick this game with any significant accuracy. It really all depends if "good" shooting Iowa shows up (call it >33% from 3). If they do, the Tigers are in trouble. If they don't, it could be an easy win for Auburn. If Iowa shoots >50% from three, then it should be a Hawkeye blowout. As I've mentioned above, this is not likely to happen as their away from home shooting has been pretty miserable (with the exception of the Indiana game). Best of luck to you guys and safe travels for those who are going to the game. I'm picking Auburn in my multiple pool brackets.
  8. You're welcome! Up around Dallas. ...and the assertion that Iowa doesn’t play much defense is incorrect. We don't play any defense (with any consistency). Unless we're shooting well, then we play downhill and actually give some effort on the other end of the court. Dribble penetrate, wait for the overhelp and find the open guy on the arc. We aren't quick enough to recover to good ball movement.
  9. Any of you who are concerned about playing Iowa need to check out our home vs away splits for 3pt shooting percentage. The only away game we shot well was against Indiana and we blew them out. Also there is significant concern about the Wilson EVO ball being used in the tourney (see last year vs Richmond). Mentally soft would be an apt description of the coach and team. When we shoot well (typically at home), we're pretty much a lock to win the game. Otherwise, it's a win for Auburn.
