Nick Saban has suspended a highly-touted recruit following a recent arrest.

Per That SEC Podcast host Michael Bratton, the Alabama head coach announced that the program is suspending defensive back Tony Mitchell from all team activities while they investigate the situation.

Mitchell was arrested and charged with marijuana possession with the intent to sell or deliver following a Wednesday traffic stop in Florida. A passenger was charged with carrying a concealed firearm without a permit.

"Everybody's got an opportunity to make choices and decisions," Saban said Monday. "There’s no such thing as being in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Whether intentional or not, Saban's quote reads as a pointed criticism of Nate Oats. Alabama's men's basketball coach said star player Brandon Miller was in the "wrong spot at the wrong time" when allegedly delivering the gun used to fatally shoot a woman on Jan. 15.
