aujdub 0
First and foremost, these are stats -- not bashing. I love that Chizik is our head coach. I'm just pointing out that maybe it's not all Roof. What's your take on these stats? From al.com and MrSEC.com, Auburn has allowed a defensive touchdown every 19.5 plays (eighth in the SEC) compared to one every 45 plays for Alabama (tops in the SEC). For the fourth straight year as a head coach, Gene Chizik is on pace to have a scoring defense of 23 points or more. Prior to becoming a head coach, Chizik went six straight years at Texas, Auburn and Central Florida with out allowing 19 points or more per game. 87aubie 0
If your point is that Mr Roof might not have a wealth of talent to work with, then I would tend to agree. The comparisons between Chizik as a HC and as a DC and between Chizik and Saban (AU vs Bama) are somewhat misleading and, IMO, someone's feeble effort to stir the pot. JwgreDeux 1,219
I love stats, because they don't lie, but I'm not sure I see your point. Are you implying that CGC got worse as a defensive coach when he was promoted to head coach, or questioning his hires of D-coordinators? Most likely explanation to why his defenses as a head coach haven't been as good as they were as a D-coordinator at AU and TX may be talent level. I'm sure he hasn't forgotten how to coach. AuburnEngineer 0
I would love it if we could hold every opponent to under 24 points. We would win for sure every game!
guerra aguila 0
I dont think those stats mean a whole lot. Alabamas strength of schedule is nowhere near as good as ours. When they played a team with good receivers... they got torched. IMO.
casatiger 490
Auburn has allowed a defensive touchdown every 19.5 plays????? That does not make sense to me or I am reading it wrong.

We have allowed 24 td`s in 567 plays. That`s closer to one every 25 plays. Not saying it is great but your #`s are off a little.
