With #1 on the line, what has happened to the last #1s and the job Chizik & company has done preparing our boys I am very optimistic this week. I know our secondary will be tested and possibly abused a time or two, but just feel our boys will not allow a slip up. I know we are beat up, but if we come out and dominate Auburn coverage will blow up on Sports Center.

War Eagle !

Auburn coverage has alredy blown up on Sports Center. Unfortunatly the only time Auburn as a team isn't getting disrespected is when they are talking about Cam destroying defenses.

I just don't understand the obsession with Sports Center or any other group of talking heads.  :dunno:

They have a right to an opinion just like we do.  Granted, once they get to the point to where there is no longer reason or logic in their choices, like Holtz, they probably are in the wrong profession.

Just let em have their say on the airwaves and we will do our talking on the field of play!

Because those talking heads, as dumb as they can be get share their opinion to the entire NATION.  It helps us out in the polls the more POSITIVE coverage and credit we get.  If we don't loose they'll be talking about how the #1 curse is broken...unless Oregon loses! (I think is VERY possible)

Amen Green !

And make no mistake, they will PROMOTE who they LIKE and feel will make them look the smartest with their predictions. At the end of the day it comes down to their EGO and promoting themselve$$$. They all have radio shows, rags, etc. and other outside interest that thrive on just how "right" they are.

It's amazing how many times we forget how unprofessional and stupid some of these experts can be.  The one thing I'll never forget is the 2007 (could have wrong year) AU/FL game when Holtz wtated that Auburn's chances for winning was as good as his chance of being elected as a Senator for Florida.  Why I remember this so well is because we won....I'm still waiting for that idiot to be elected Senator.

My husband made a very good observation about the #1's who have lost and Auburn...

Look at the past 3 number 1 teams...how did they get there?  Preseason rankings based on last season and by default (the team above them losing).  None really had to "earn" it.

How did Auburn get there....we earned it.  We have clawed and scratched our way from #22 preseason to #1.

There is a HUGE difference in the minds of the players when they achieve this goal, and it is not just handed to them.

That's a good observation girl.  Another is that none of those losses would be considered huge upsets.  All were to ranked opponents.  I don't think AU follows the trend this week, but we'll have to come ready to play.  Ole Miss isn't going to just lay down for us.
