Teaching my 16 month old to say War Eagle...

She is getting close to saying War Eagle.  I have a new tool at my disposal now though, last weekend at the LSU game, we went to the University Bookstore, and they have a section of Auburn children's book.  She now says Aubie and Auburn, and War Eagle is next!  She walked past our pumpkin last night and said Aubie, and I was so proud she recognized him without my help.

Here's the pumpkin:

My 3 year old grandson knows the words to the fight song and also to Glory.  When he is in my truck all he wants to listen to is the Auburn Band CD...

Start 'em young, raise 'em right!!!

I have been teaching my 2 year old (soon to be 3) the same.  He can't get enough of the videos of the band entering the stadium and playing the fight song and glory.  I here him singing the fight song in his bed at night while he is falling asleep.  It is awesome, especially since his grandparents on both sides have been trying to sway him to the dark side.

My son is 24 but when he was a year old and we got him the the stuffed Aubie Tiger that sings the Fight Song. He loved to carry it on his shoulder with me carrying him on my shoulder. His picture was in the B'Ham News taken at Oak Mt Amphitheater in 89 after Pat Dye had spoken to the crowd. We still have it but the voice box gave out on us.

You sure it wasnt "Dyer Dyer"  hehehe.

I have 2 girls.  My older said War Eagle young.  I have a video or her at about 2.5 in front of a mirror giving a big War Eagle with a broken arm...She got cast the next day.

My littlest 2.5 now recognizes Auburn and last night while cruising the board and watching some video, she says "Daddy  you watchin Auburn Football" Gotta love it..

I got one similar: I try to teach my soon to be 3 yr old daughter to say "mullet" every time her babysitter and the babysitter's son say rtr.  My wife came home one day and asked me if I taught her anything, and of course I told her "why not me."  She then told me that my daughter called her great-grandma (a mullet), "mullet."  Its amazing what you can teach a child!

I've been teaching her "Auburn", "War Eagle", "Go Tigers", "Orrraaange --- Blllluuueee" yells, and of course Aubie too.  We watch the Aubie YouTube vids every night or most nights before she goes to bed.

WDE!!!

You're right kids are hilarious. I have twin daughters who turned 3 couple months ago. My wife and I work very hard not to indoctrinate them into anything (politics, food, sports etc). As you'll read, Auburn is different. The twins saw Aubie in one of the games, and they were hooked. They asked to see him more, and I found myself searching through the games too much to find him, so I showed them Aubie's hits on youtube. They absolutely LOVE them, esp the one where he skydives. Go figure. I showed them the eagle flight, tiger walk, and the intro tunnel vid. They absolutely love the eagle flight, and saying "war eagle, hey!" dancing around the house. My 16mos old little guy mimics them now, and knows who Aubie is as well. The one twin asks daily to watch this stuff. She's even going to be "Aubie" for Halloween. Can't believe it, not in my wildest dreams. So, my wife made a homemade tiger outfit and we'll put the jersey on, and paint her face around this lil tiger hat she made (can't find the big slippers though). She went to gymnastic's class today (here in Charleston) and the coach asked what she was going to be for Halloween, and she said "Aubie" (and she always has an attitude like "it's obvious, why don't you get it), and of course he didn't have a clue. She said "you know, Cam and Auburn." I heard him say "ah Cam Newton, that guy is an absolute stud". But I couldn't believe she actually knew a player's name!

yeah, fun stuff, right! We are the worst though--parents, I never thought I'd take "pride" in some of the silliest things they do like this. But I do, and strangely, don't even mind.

My eight year old girl pulls for bama since her big sister who she worships attended UAT last year, but I haven't given up hope yet.

But my quaker parrot is awesome.  He's 15 years old now, says over 50 different things.  The first thing he learned was War Eagle.  If you say to him......  "Warrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr".......he will chime in "EAGLE".  Then he will say "Warrrrrrrrrrr" and wait on you to say "EAGLE".  I've had many bama friends try to get him to say RTR, and they are usually met with a WAR EAGLE.
