Running back recruits

With the great season we are having and the new addition to the family, I haven't had time to look at recruiting like I normally have this time of year.

Are we going to sign a top running back recruit?

Who are some of the prospects?

Thanks in advance!!

p.s. Did D.J. Howard redshirt at Clemson?

First of all, your priorities are all messed up.  Never allow a new family member interfere with this site!! j/k and congratulations!!  But check the Auburn Recruiting site on the board and you will find everything you need, except answers, because that position is our most fluid of all at this time.

The names at running back to search that we are recruiting at RB are Aaron Harris, Andrew Buie, Tre Mason, Savon Huggins, Javorious “Buck” Allen, and Quan Bray. Also here is a page w/ the most recent update (will say updated 10/25) by jtaub on all Auburn recruits. It is a very good resource. It's down the page a bit so scroll down...

We are recruiting him as a defensive player and he wants to play in an I formation team so I think Coe has moved on from us.

Add Rodney Coe to that list. I don't think he's too big to play RB for us.

Da Da says he's too small. He would get crushed like a bug on a windshield.

It really does not matter. He wants to play in an I formation system (which we do not use) and we are recruiting him to play defense so the chances of Coe to AU at this point are slim at this point.

He's not to big but he lacks the speed to be an elite SEC running back. Auburn coaches feel his best potential is on defense. Anyone who's seen film of him on defense, you can understand that's where his future is.

If his future was at Auburn. If he goes to Arky or Iowa his future is at RB. He fits those offenses well.

Why does anyone keep saying Coe is too big to RB? have you forgot that we are redshirting 6-1, 275 RB LaDarius Phillips.

Who is anyone, you mean everyone, saying Coe is too big and Da Da is around 290 now. A4E, my days would be dull without you. I love you big guy and War Eagle!!!

I think if he plays RB, he a ideal fit for the Big 10 and for the weather they have up there. I believe he will only be a short yardage back if he plays in the SEC.

He definitely fits the mold of an Iowa back and I didn't realize that Arkansas backs are as big as they are. Broderick Green is 248 and Ronnie Wingo isn't small either at 230, so maybe he would be a good fit for Arkansas too.

In the long run LD will be a 3rd and short power back. We still would need a 1st and 2nd down between the tackles power back and that looks to be Buck Allen at this point.

Just my opinion but I'm warming up to the idea of bigger running backs. Watching Cam run the ball just amazes me he is obviously exceptional but still, 6'6" 250 looks about right to me :hellyeah:

I agree, but I have searched Scout and Rivals and I can't find one running back who is 6-6, 250.  Or even close. :D
