AUPride4Ever 0
I live in the Birmingham area and this past weekend, I picked up a copy of the Bham news. I was so glad to see the pic of Neiko Thorpe making the tackle on JLee that sealed the fate of LSU. I just wanted to give a big shout out to Neiko! I know he has been the target of many folks because of his lack of production, but he really came through in a big way for us. I hope to see this young man play "lights out" the remainder of the season and beyond. He is a good kid and he LOVES Auburn. War Eagle, Neiko!!!! Keep it up!!!! :wedance:

He has been much maligned by some on these boards, I suggest unfairly. He played with a cast on his arm last week and obviously, our coaches who know who we have and better than anyone else what they can do started him with one arm last week. He's a warrior and an Auburn man and deserves our gratitude. War Eagle Neiko!
DunderMifflin 60
Looking back to last year, he won the game for us against Northwestern by not falling for the fake motion going to the other side of the field, and making a great play to keep the guy out of the end zone. fourthvision 0
Neiko has indeed come up with big plays when we need them. He also stopped clemson's rb ellington in OT.
bo knowz 0
Early in his career he made great breaks on the ball and intercepted the ball several times.....I am not sure if we/he play the same style/scheme.....
Ronald McDonald 0
He made a great break on the ball last week against LSU in their first drive. Should've picked it off but he couldn't handle it. Still a great play on it though.
icanthearyou 4,399
Neiko may be the hardest working player we have. Covering top SEC receivers every week while providing run support at the same time, punt coverage, kickoff coverage. Plays every down of every game. The guy is a really good football player. He just never seems to get a break. Absolutely perfect passes thrown when he has good coverage, phantom pass interference calls. The football gods owe Neiko big time. It's about time the breaks start going his way. War Eagle Neiko.

tsande07 271
So glad to see a thread where Neiko is getting some love, rather than the usual weekly bashing!
Legacy Tiger1345162832 0
I also like how he is 6'2"... and gives us some size in the secondary.

NCTiger 0
Neiko has Northwestern and LSU that are simply huge. The bama game (go ahead TD) last year and the ARK last year were brutal. He has the size and ability and as some of you stated is a very hard worker. I still think Neiko has the skill he showed early in his career, I just don't think it has been developed all that well. He is a totally different player when the ball is in front of him. If you are coached NOT to turn around and look for the ball you better make darn sure you coach how to read a WR's eyes and other things to prevent the reception. Anyway, he is a trooper and has contributed plenty to Auburn. War Eagle !
jefflee 0
But for the cast on his hand he would have picked the first one against LSU. He is a great and loves Auburn. He will have a big game today with a pick six in the third quarter.
