For whatever reason DirecTV has Bham blacked out....another of the many reasons to stay with cable. As for me...I have taken a nice job in scenic Valdosta, GA (thank God after months of unemployment.....seriously, I do believe this was divine intervention) and I am enjoying the game on the duece...on cable...while my lovely wife is on the computer in Bham watching a postage stamp broadcast on computer. Be glad when she is here....but enjoying a few Jacks in the meantime!

I will be on the phone Monday with Directv and try to find out exactly what happened. I live in Tuscaloosa and missed the first 10 minutes or so. Will have to watch the replay to see.

My contract comes up for renewal in December. Will be pricing the competition.

Aufan and Tomcat, I have Dish Network and I have not had a single problem in 2 years since I've been with them.  And HD looks alot better than Direct does. Check it out.

Does Dish have ESPNU in HD?

Looks like I have some research to do. Could you give me a good website to start catching up? Sorry for the hijack. I'm done. War Eagle!

I did go off on DirecTV.  After I hung up I felt bad for the lady and the first supervisor.  The second supervisor said he did not know why it was blacked out but he would find out and try to get it turned back on.  He called me back after it was turned back on to make sure I was getting it.  He didn't know that I still have a live Charter cable (bootleg) coming into the house so I didn't miss much but I was still POed.  I was happy to get it back in HD.

Soon as my contract is over with Directv will be looking for a new provider. This was the last straw, I have had nothing but issues with their crappy customer service. I could write 2 or 3 pages worth of crap from all the issues we have had with them.

Reply I sent today to Directv in response to them giving me Showtime for 3 months due to my loyalty to Directv. Curious if I will hear back from them.

Thanks for the free Showtime, but since I do not watch movies, it kinda useless to me. I love sports, so the Sports Pack free for three months would be a better gift.

On to another subject. I am an Auburn Tigers fan and was greatly disappointed yesterday, 10/30/10, when the game was to come on, but instead was blacked out. I am sure there is a reason, but any reason would be unacceptable for any Auburn Fan. My contract expires in December and I will be looking at other choices for television viewing. I will only stay with Directv if I can get a similar deal available to new subscribers. Such as free HD and an additional HD receiver free. May be others but that is a good start.
