We all need to chill out about the polls and the BCS rankings. First things first, we still have 3 games left. Hopefully 5 games but 3 for sure. Let me give props to Oregon, they have a good team but they have only beaten 1 ranked team. Let's not forget about UGA or UA! War Eagle and let's keep a level head about us! If we don't take care of our own business there won't be any future bizzness!

Exactly! If we keep winning there will be NO arguments. All the ''EXPERTS'' think we lose to the turds but after we beat them convincingly everybody will love us.

We absolutely should not be worried about our ranking right now. Oregon looks deadly on offense, but I don't know how well they'd stand up to Auburn. What I mean by that is they aren't used to playing teams who can keep up with them offensively, and as much maligned as our defense has been, they've been making plays amidst the problems..and making just a couple of plays that Oregon isn't used to having made against them could be the difference in the game.

At the end of the day, Oregon scares me, just like Boise does, but the advantage we have is that we've been playing tough opponents week in and week out. The argument that we deserve it more than them because of the body of work has been made repeatedly, but it's as if the reality of what playing that kind of schedule does for a team is completely lost on national media. Ohio State was proclaimed the best team in the country hands down after they beat the other undefeated team, Michigan, but then they got blown out of the stadium by Florida. Why? Because they weren't used to playing against such competition. Florida was.

In any given year, the SEC has three or four teams that legitimately are good enough to play for the national championship with just a couple of breaks. This year, I honestly believe there are four teams in the SEC West who would win four of the other five BCS conferences...and that's not even including South Carolina, who in spite of the loss to Kentucky (whom we know can be quite troublesome) have an outstanding team.

Being perfectly honest, Boise State does not scare me.  Games are often won or lost in the trenches and I can help but believe that our OL & DL would beat the tar out of Boise State.  Oregon...yeah, they scare me.

Great to see that someone else besides myself has respect for the likes of BSU & Oregon.  Oregon for their scary offense and Boise for their ability to get up for the big game and overall team balance.

Oregon is legit. I think we can score with them and would have a good shot of winning a very even game.

Personally, I think Boise gets raped if they play anyone from the top 4 of the SEC. I know that the star system doesn't always tell the whole story, but if you put a team that consistently lands top 5 classes against Boise, they will be out-talented easily. Choklahoma excluded of course ;)

Have you looked at the quality of defenses that Oregon has faced? I don't think they have gone up against a single team that is ranked in the top 50. They are blowing people out because they are in a conference with no defense.

Also, have you looked at the size of their D-line? Cam is bigger than all but one of their starting DLs. Our bulldozers would be pancaking them all day.

On the Oregon or Boise situation, here's my take:

We would absolutely smoke Boise.  Don't think for one second they could hang on either side of the ball.

Oregon is legit, but I expect them to lose one of these last few games.  Seems it happens every year to whoever is on top in the Pac 10, whereas the team that sets themself apart in the SEC usually keeps it going and runs the table.

I think Oregon could give us a run for our money only because we'd both score our points.  I think our D is better talent wise than theirs, and that'd be the difference.  Fairley would be the key to that game...he'd supply pressure like they've never seen.

I'd, of course, rather play Boise, but am scared of neither.   :wedance:

IMO, TCU is the strongest out of the non-AQ's. And I do think they are a better team then Oregon.

Boise and TCU basically play the same weak schedule but while Boise gives up 20+ points to LaTech, TCU shuts out people week in and week out. We'll find out how good they really are when they play Utah. But, If you want the two best teams in the National Championship game, it should be TCU VS. Auburn.

But again, that's just my opinion. :P
