Chaotic_zx 700
A guest caller stated that bama matched up better with Oregon than does AU. His logic was that they have a better D(not debating). He then said that bama might control the clock with their run game. At that point I had enough. I tweeted Bill King with my thoughts. Actually made it on the radio. He responded by saying that the offense wasn't the issue. My comments were directed at the guest caller. @BillisKing Flawed logic. Who has the better run offense AU or bama? Saying bama can run on Oregon and AU cant is hard for me to take. @BillisKing If AU/OU play AU controls the clock by running. Malzahn's O is a old style run O disguised as a spread. OU has an undersized D. @BillisKing Not debating the AU bad D but feel like they can get some stops. AU run D is good. @BillisKing The comments were directed at the guest caller on the show. He stated bama would match up better against Oregon. @BillisKing He stated bama matched up better because of D and bama would control the clock with their run game. I'm not saying AU beats Ore. @BillisKing Not debating the AU bad D but feel like they can get some stops. AU run D is good. I'm not upset. I just can't understand the AU has no chance theory or the bama has a better chance logic.
45Tiger 0
wonder if he will still be saying that when Au's D shuts down the bammer run game. say what you want about AU's D but the run D has been solid all year. I'd be comfortable putting it up against anyone's running game.
FST05 0
Bill King is also the guy that said just 3 weeks ago no way Cam would legitimately be considered for the Heisman... He has since changed his tone on that one as will he will AU not being able to play with Oregon. Bama would have no chance at keeping up with Oregon in scoring. Jackson-Sullivan 0
I actually listen to his show every morning and really enjoy it most of the time. He was unbearable when Tubs left, though. He's pretty good but you can sometimes tell that he (this is the case with a majority of the talking heads nationally) doesn't watch our games very closely. A lot of these guys just keep harping on our D being terrible as a whole every week when it is obvious they are improving. It's very obvious when someone's talking about our team this year and hasn't been watching closely. They always offer a prepared blanket statement of how dynamic we are week in, week out on O and how we are terrible as a whole on D.

He's changed his tune big time on us all around. He didn't even mention Cam as a Heisman possibility untill way after he started getting all the hype. He also said from the beginning of the season that we had no chance whatsoever at any sort of championship because we just didn't have the Jimmy and the Joes to compete with the mighty tahd, among others. Yeah it really is sickening to constantly here the same ignorant babbling from the uninformed. I generally don't like Bill King's opinions but do enjoy the show. I like Childers better. aupops2 7
Guy from Rivals on here in Nashville said that a one-win UAT could go to the NCG against Oregon, but if we beat UTC, UGA, and UAT, but then lose the SECCG, either TCU, Utah, or Boise would jump us!! Ummm... I agree with that. If Auburn loses the SEC champ. game, they will drop in the human polls with no time left to make it up. If Auburn had lost to Arkansas or someone else earlier in the season and won out all the way through Atlanta, I think they would go to the BCS champ. game then. 87aubie 0
The old addage is true. Better to lose early than late. That was the case even before the BCS. Not sure, exactly, why a loss is September is less bad than a loss in Novemeber. A loss is a loss. But it is what it is.

I am enjoying this season more than you will ever know!! Just sharing what I heard from a Rivals person, which is the subject of this thread. I'm not one to get into "what ifs"; just reporting the info. Thanks for the unsoliticited advice, though.

If we don't win our own conference, we should not be playing for the national championship no matter what - same thing I felt when the UGA hype was so high a few years back - they didn't play in the SEC Championship game but many felt they were the best team in the country (and finished 2nd that year) To play in the national championship game, we have to win out I believe. A loss to Chatt, UGA or BAMA and we could still play in the SEC championship game and win that (various scenarios) but if we lose the SECCG, we'll have to settle for a great BCS bowl, I believe. You must win your conference to be a legitimate consideration for the national championship game IMO!!
