I dont see the big deal :dunno: ? Finebum and everybody are making a big deal out of it. If the kid is looking at the Ga. sideline and not going through the motions in his head "oh well". He is supposed to be visualizing the ball going through the uprights not looking at the Ga coaches. Im sure the kid could not have heard it.

Do we make a big deal out of it when a coach calls time-out right before a snap or even during a snap? to "Ice the kicker?" I think that "If" it gives you some psycological advantage do it!

Have you ever heard the smack talk on the line of scrimmage in a tough game? Some "thin skins" would just pass out. Its not Sunday-school out there! everybody is like  >:( there are a few that are like

You are already scared of the dude that lines up like ;D and he knows it.

Nobody ever lines up like :).

Chattanooga's D line will look like  :o :o :o :o.

AU's O line will be like  :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:.

Come on, thats the best I could do with the emotes that I got.....

Back to my point Antagonism and intimidation techques are part of football. Its vulgar and violent on the field AND the sidelines AND in the stands. We hug and shake hands AFTER the game.

Football is just a small 3 hr. represntation of WAR. You HATE the "bad" guys untill its setteled.

The guy is a representative of the University of Georgia. The head coach and the offensive and defensive coordinators are usually the highest profile employees at most big time schools. Most people can't name the president, but they know the coaches. I've heard plenty of trash talk between players, but I have never seen a coach openly taunting a player on any level, while screaming obscenities at the top of his lungs. When you are being paid almost a million dollars to do a job, you should be acting like a professional, not screaming "I hope you @#$&*!@ choke" like you are some drunk fan sitting in front of your flatscreen.

Just a thought, but if this guy had been doing his job instead of getting caught up in the quote "emotions of the game", then maybe his defense isn't in the position of having to block a kick in overtime to keep from losing. It may be no big deal to a lot of people, but trust me the little things matter in every aspect of life.

What was he supposed to do?  Go out and pat the little fella on the backside, wish him well, and give him a lollypop?  Grantham only demonstrated what everyone standing on that sideline was thinking.  Why has everyone become so sissified, getting their feelings hurt at the slightest "injustice"?  This has to rank as one of the goofiest things to whine about, that happened during a football game, in a long time.

It's called class. You win with class and you lose with class. What if that was CGC or CGM standing there screaming I hope you F'n choke at the top of their lungs at the kid? Oh oh, I got one better than that.... What if that was Nick Saban doing it? I bet there would be at least 5 threads here w/ frame by frame break down and analysis of what a low down, classless, pos sob he is.

Here is a link to this hard to believe a grown man would do that to a college guy.

I`m just betting this has happened somewhere to someone else before and will happen again. Just happened to get caught this time. i`m not so sure how big a deal it is other than folks like pineball and the press making something out of it. Obviously if the kicker saw it he wasn`t bothered by it. Didn`t show much class but it wasn`t a chess match going on at the time was it?

I hope you're kidding because there are 50 things worse that happen at every game than this.  This whole debacle is just some media asses trying to sensationalize a nothing story.  The guy taunted a player to get in his head, meanwhile there is eye gouging going down on the field, not to mention punches and kicks and cheap shots galore.  But hey, let's worry about this little tidbit of nothingness.

I think this was a pretty classless move but it got me thinking. How is this any different then when a coach calls time out to try and ice the kicker? Both acts are trying to get the same result. Let me say that I believe there is a distinction but it's interesting.
