imsoauburn 0
PLEASE STAY ON TOPIC. SERIOUS QUESTION. NEED SOME OPINIONS. If you were going to go ahead and get tickets for the BCS National Championship game when would you get them? And also what side would you get them on? Visitors(ranked #2 going in) or Home(ranked #1 going in) I KNOW IT IS EARLY BUT I WOULD RATHER BE SAFE THAN SORRY. You can always sell them for more than you got them for if something crazy happens. Legacy Tiger1345162832 0
Safe bet is #2... visitors side, imo. And I'd buy them at 3:12 am... when your wifey is a sleep.
Ronald McDonald 0
We aren't buying ours until the monday after the Iron Bowl (if we win the iron bowl).
Dantheman275 0
I would also say get the tickets after the Iron Bowl if we win. A friend of mine who is an Alabama fan also highly recommended getting plane tickets immediately when you decide to go to the BCS.
NoALtiger 3,656
Nothing wrong with thinking and planning ahead, especially in this economy. Those who don't will be left out. Just a fact folks. Being fans and not actually being on the team, we are afforded the opportunity to do so. I know quite a few people who have been looking into rooms and plane options already. For what it's worth, I wouldn't worry what side to be on, just getting in and not spending your life's savings is the main point. Many fans will be spread out anyway. Get the best tix at the best price you can period or someone else will. WDE.
Ronald McDonald 0
I'm willing to pay whatever it takes so thats why we are waiting so long. If you aren't willing to pay in the upper price level then i'd go ahead and start thinking and making a move on it this week.

mrdude 3
If we win out we'll be #1, so I'd go with the home side.
bootskii 258
Let me check my crystal ball.... The crystal ball says it's to early to be talking about this. Hold off until after the Iron Bowl and the SEC championship game if we make it.
AubieIsMyHero 0
From what I understand the cheapest tickets right now are ~$600. I love Auburn but I can't drop $1200 on 2 tickets plus airfare plus hotel room. I'll be in Glendale but I won't be at the game.

muxi87 148
I hadn't posted on the whole MNC game thing yet because I didn't want to get all the "horse before the buggy" comments, but I actually turned in my Marriott points a couple weeks ago and secured a room for the weekend. I'm a supersticious person, and know many others are, but this isn't a jinx causing move, it's just being plain smart. Now booking a room, getting a non-refundable airline ticket, and buying game tickets is something I'd consider to be bad moxy. The way I see it is that you can get a plane ticket...though the longer you wait, the more expensive it may get. You can get a game ticket from a scalper. But if hotels are sold out, you ain't getting a room! For me, Airline ticket is next. They're around $250 round trip right now...sure that'll go up as time draws near, but hopefully they'll hold at about that price until Black Friday at around 6:00pm. Then I'll put the full court press on tickets. I've had friends go to the last 2, and they said tickets there are about the same price as they are now online. I'll go through all my resources at Auburn, and if I exhaust all of those, I won't buy tickets in advance unless they're $500 or less. At $500+, I'll just wait until I'm there to find something. One thing is for certain: if they go, I'll be there!
imsoauburn 0
Yea, people can say they are waiting all they want but they will be the ones sitting on the couch once January 10th comes around if we end up going. YOU CAN SELL TICKETS! I dont understand why people dont understand this. And the thing is if we aren't going it will probably be Bama. So you can sell them for more than you got them for to a dumb bammer. Its no risk. Plane tickets are the only risk.
87aubie 0
Just so folks know, there are a number of web sites that offer ticket and travel packages. You can pay a refundable deposit now so if things don't work out the way we hope they do, you won't be out any money. The catch is that you have to be able to pay in full the day AU clinches the BCS birth (Dec 5th). You just need to have the margin on your credit card by then. NoALtiger 3,656
When did Noah build the Ark? Before the rain people. Before the rain. At least entertain making plans if you wanna possibly see AU history or be left behind watching it from your couch. Tough economic times require planning ahead, no harm in that. WDE. AubieIsMyHero 0
The packages are great, all I need to do is come up with ~$3k to do it. I'll just get airfare and a hotel room and my wife & I will watch from a bar in Glendale then celebrate with the Auburn fans after the game. Apparently, I'm the only poor schlub on this board that doens't have a couple extra thousand sitting around to attend a football game.
weegleweegle 0
I was just looking on Expedia.com and you can get 3 nights in a nice hotel plus round trip air fare from BHM to Phoenix for around $450.00 per person. WDE

WDE Southwest rates are usually pretty good and they fly out of BHM. I'm looking at tickets from CMH to PHX on Southwest and they're pretty reasonable. Game tickets are pretty much out of the question for me.
Tiger781345162823 0
I booked my hotel rooms today. Airline is no problem, I just hope our season ticket priority is high enough that I can get the 4 I need.
