It WILL be broken this week!  I'm thinking Dyer gets 20 touches this week just to keep him in "game condition".

I'm very happy for Dyer and hope he does get the record. But I wouldn't feel right without saying I'm a firm believer that Bo is the greatest player ever at Auburn. War Eagle!!!

I am the biggest Bo fan ever, and even had some eye-to-eye contact (better than any other kind of contact) with him, but he will tell you there are two players on this team that, God willing, will someday stand on the podium alongside him.  One will stand with him on his athletic ability, another will stand with him on pure grit, determination, and toughness, and both will stand with him and Pat Sullivan with a trophy!!

I don't think personal records matter much to Bo. I do believe he enjoys watching the players succeed, and would be very happy if Dyer broke his record.

When Jack Nicklaus was questioned about his record for majors being broken by Tiger (back when everyone assumed Tiger would break it), he said the record was great when he set it, but you don't look at it as something to stand forever.  It's a target for the next generation aim at in proving their greatness.  I think that's the right way to look at it.  When Dyer breaks the record (and he will), it won't diminish Bo's contribution to AU a single bit.  It will just increase Dyer's.  He's going to be special in many of the same ways that Bo is.  It will be fun to watch.

Dyer will be a dominant running back in the next two years. I love his style. Reminds me of Jones-Drew. When he finds the seem he goes from 0 to wide open in about 2 steps.

I am hoping that our starters get about a quarter's worth of reps, then sit.  I kind of want to get a peak at next year's guys to see what is in the future, particularly on offense.  And I want to protect our guys for the stretch run.

Why even risk Dyer getting hurt this week?  We have a couple of walkons that want to participate.  Let them have it.

Fannin needs the carries. He's still going to be a contributor through the rest of the season, and practice reps can only go so far towards improving his ball security. That's why the coaches put him in towards the end of the Ole Miss game.

Not to downplay Michael Dyers acomplishments, because I think he is going to be one of the greatest before he graduates, but defenses did not have to worry about Randy Campbell the way they do Cam Newton, and this years OL is not to shabby either!  Bo ran the ball when EVERYONE in the stadium knew he was going to run it and he still got 6-8 yards per carry!  Our offensive playbook was "Bo left", "Bo right", "Bo up the middle", "Bo over the top"!

Dyer would have already broke that, if he was healthy all season. He only had a few carries against La Monroe and  arkmart. You could tell Saturday that he is getting back to 100%. I love how he has progress through the season. He has really learned to set up his blocks, and he has the power to break alot of tackles. I can't wait to see how strong he will be after spending a year on the weight program!

I personally would liike to see him build on his momentum and confidence. He really let loose against ole piss, and some more experience could only help down the stretch. If he can continue running like he did Sat. for the rest of the season, it would really open things up for Cam.

The thing that amazes me about this is that Dyer has done this despite not starting the whole season, not being healthy part of the season after being named starter, and being in the same backfield with the SEC's leading rusher in Cam.

I think it's more likely that he'll get 10-12, if that, and let Mario have a big game for homecoming of his senior year, maybe get E Smith some carries. :dunno:

I love MD, he is doing great even with that hitch in his step. Saw a game last year, pouring rain, turned his ankle and still ran all over the D. That kid has some more grit. Not afraid of competition either, tries to recruit other RBs to help the team. Just a lot of good kids coming to Auburn.
