our defense is actually built to compliment our offense on the experts. Most teams usually try to run the ball and use ball control to stop our offense. That plays right into the hands of our strength. So team are going to try to score quick and make mistakes. Think about the Demond Washington pick in the Ole Miss game.

Makes perfect sense to me. The short yardage pass play is the safe bet for opposing teams. We protect against the long ball and play lights out run defense.

I don't want to hear anything Palmer has to say....That's just me though.

He may be right in his observation that our defense matches our offense pretty well, but I don't know that it is by design.  Maybe more just a result of what we have.  I'm sure as much as CGC likes having a stout run D, he would love to be stronger in the secondary right now.  I don't think our staff really wants every game to be a track meet.

Not every game has been a track meet.

But if thats what it takes to win, then thats what it takes.

Auburns defense gets stronger as the game goes along, and the home crowd will help them feed off the energy against Georgia.

If Georgia gets to greedy like other teams we have faced... Auburn could have a chance to put a lot of pressure on them in predictable situations.

That's true GA.  I guess my point was that my opinion is that our defensive set up is probably more a function of the coaches recognizing and working with what talent and depth they have rather than a strategy to be strong against the run and soft against the pass in order to lure the opposition into throwing.  And you are correct.  For the most part, our second half defensive performances have been better.

It's not just you. I have no respect for that goober.

There is a lot of this going around. For a change he at least had something somewhat positive to say about anything related to our program. The fact that he didn't manage to work in a TCU or Boise reference is amazing in and of itself.

I also believe that Malzahn is going to pounce on every opportunity he can to score. I think its time for Auburn to make a statement. A big one.
