STARKVILLE — Kenny Rogers‘ attorney confirmed Thursday details concerning a payment plan Cam Newton‘s father allegedly asked Rogers to pass along to Mississippi State booster Bill Bell.

“We are unequivocally saying that the entire thing was solicited by Cecil Newton and, unfortunately, (Rogers) stupidly became a rubber hose and passed it along,” said Doug Zeit, Rogers’ attorney, in a phone interview with The Clarion-Ledger on Thursday. “That’s what (Rogers) did. (He) never asked for money, other than what Cecil Newton wanted and how he wanted it.”

Finebaum is bashing Rogers saying when your lawyer is calling you stupid to the press it does not bode well for your case....

THis is all just becoming laughable if it wasn't so serious but I have one question if MR.Newton was supposedly having the phone conversations with Bell why would he need Rodgers to send a text when he could do it himself since he had talked to the guy????

That may be the most unbelievable statement we have heard yet, and that's saying something... When this is all over can we pitch in and hire a violin player to go play in Starkville while it burns to the ground? ;)

Seriously guys, he has no choice. He has backed himself into a no win situation and as many do in his position he is pointing fingers at the only thing he can, Cecil. He is in it deep and lashing out like a man drowning, because he is...

Why even text I mean it doesnt sound that complicated to me 80 then  50 then 50 LOL surely he didnt think a text would constitute a contract .... anyways I think Rodgers was trying to play bell and MSU for money and sent a text to ask for money because that way he could say mr.newton was there even though he wasnt
