It' s all about the hits

As sad as the above mentions, Internet media sales have become the strongest media buy outside of television in college football. Lets face it we all love our Auburn tigers, and the Auburn fan does it in a way to respect the competition like no other fan base in the country. Unfortunately the neighbors next door wake up and go to bed thinking about their team. The way the season transpires dictates their daily lives to the point of a serious medical condition.

With that said it does not take the media very long to see where their "internet hits" traffic will come from. This is the numbers they show advertisers. It is an absolute shame they are using this for numbers but the fact is they are. And unfortunately for the Newtons and AU, they have caught the neghbors next door and cashing in daily.

It just looks like College Football is becoming Jerry Springer/WWE.  It doesn't matter how you do it, get the ratings and website hits.  Create a controversy and more people will watch and/or go to your website.  This is great for the $ side of college football, the media outlets, and the NCAA.  It is bad for the purity of the sport and the fans.
