How good is Savon Huggins? Does anyone know what our real chances are with him or lane? Haven't heard much about us recruiting these guys very hard.

He's very good, one of the better backs in this class. As is Lane. Right now our chances with Huggins are low, since we came on late and he's from NJ. But you never know.

Our chances may be better with Lane. He's from FL so distance wont be as much of a factor. And he's committed to Clemson along with Mike Bellamy, so he may not want to share the backfield his whole career with the best back in FL.

DJ, do you know any specifics about these two when it comes to AU's chances of getting them?

We've been recruiting Huggins and Lane the entire time. They have just not said that much about us in the media. Lane has "shopped" around quite a bit recently, but is still committed to Clemson as of now. He has maintained that he is 100% committed to them, and he EVEN has a Clemson tattoo!   Huggins is DEFINITELY one of the TOP RB's in the nation, and he will be an IMPACT player as soon as he steps onto the field wherever he goes! He has flip-flopped on his "favorite", but most people considered him a Rutgers lean. IF he decides to come South, we could stand a good chance! I would dance a jig if we got him!  ;)

I've always thought Huggins would wind up at Notre Dame... I hope we convince him to head south. I would be ecstatic if we were to sign him. Just getting him here on an official is HUGE!

I am really getting nervous about not getting a top back this year. That really does not look good.

Before blakely changed his mind I think it was known to most guys that he was our main guy and would probably sign with us.  Now I think alot of guys who knew that are taking a look at us because they now know a rb spot is open here.  I don't know who ends up with us but,  I am certain he will be a top guy.

Coach Luper went up and visited Huggins last Friday. I'm really impressed with his 3.8 GPA and his 1400 SAT. Scout has him as the 10th fastest player in this 2011 recruiting class. If we can win the BCS Championship, it would open doors for any recruits no matter where they are.

Hopefully, you're being sarcastic because if not I am getting really sick of hearing this Chicken Little crap from all the AU fans over our RB recruiting in the middle of this amazing season we are having. Not to mention the fact that it's ridiculous. Have you looked at the amount of big time RB targets we are in on? Sure we missed on Blakely and Hart, but look at those we are still in the hunt for and those we are getting back in the mix with: Allen, Buie, Mason, Huggins, Lane, Crowell, Calloway, Bray (hybrid). How can you be pessimistic about our chance of getting one quality speed back and one quality big back out of that crowd? Blows my mind sometimes.......venting session over

Chill guys, I just see the guys we have been going after committing somewhere else. There is no reason to get upset about everything. Damn, talk about a quick temper.

You must have missed this quote from the AU site:  "This is a special feature for AuburnUndercover.com subscribers only. Please don’t copy/paste or summarize to other websites or message boards. "

In the future please refrain from posting info from AU that specifically asks you not to post.

While I would love to sign a top RB every year, we have to remember that Dyer is a freshman and Omac is a sophomore, so we only lose Fanin.

That actually doesn't leave us with much at all. We NEED at least two good RBs in this class, and I would expect at least one to play. OMac is still not any sort of every down back, and you really don't want to go through a full season in the SEC with only one every down back.
