Question about Terry Bowden in mid-90s

This is going to seem totally random, but to be short...I was talking to a buddy of mine who is a die hard michigan football fan. We were talking about stuff in the 90's and we started talking about their coaches in the 90's.

I seem to remember that Terry Bowden was at least considered by Michigan for the HC job in or around 1994 or 1995 before Loyd Carr became coach. I thought I even remembered Michigan having a press conference about the issue. Anyway, my friend, who i don't doubt knows his Michigan football, says none of this ever happened. I just seemed to remember a buzz about Michigan going after Terry Bowden.

Does anyone recall any of this?....or did i seriously just dream some of this up. Again, sorry about the random question, especially one so dated.

I seriously doubt it.  Steve Spurrier would have had to show an interest in the job first.  Then Terry would have held a press conference to say why he would not want to take the job but that the Atlanta airport was only 2 hrs away and......... I do not remember that press conference .

It seems like I remember some talk, prob put out by J Sexton. It always seemed to circulate when TB was winning. I think his name was tossed around for ND one time, maybe before Davie.
