Does anyone have the slightest idea on what rank we'll be going into next season? I really don't look too much into rankings but I hope we are underestimated like every year. I like us being the underdogs lol  :we:

I am taking a wild guess and saying 27th.

Could be lower since the coaching changes but I really hope we start in the top 25. (doubt it but it would be nice since Clemson will only be around 22nd) Lots of climbing to do

Between 20 and 30, depending on how much preseason hype we get. I would imagine we'd be higher than we should so they can advertise the heck out of the kickoff game vs. Clemson.

IT's not where you start, It is where you finish and how you finish...

Lets see, where did we start in 2010..  was is not around 20th... maybe lower....

what did that have to do with the type of team we had and the character of the team and the mentality of the players..

Polls mean nothing..

I want to know the character of the players and their mentality and if they are a bunch of individuals that say "me! me! me!" or Do they say "I will do what's best for the team."  We had a QB that had the "whatever is best for the team attitude" and to me, he is better and bigger than any heisman winner...  He is what you call a true MAN....

Do the players give-up in adversity or do they pull together and fight as a team and pull each other out of the trenches when somebody fails..

I am sure the coaches could care-less too....  So why should we?

WAREAGLE!!!!

Don't tell the 2004 AU team that.  I say 26.

You beat me to it!!!!

Again I would love to start in the top 25 with Clemson in the top 20 but I don't think that will happen. Just in case we somehow win 12 or 13 games.

OK, but the OP wants to know where we will be ranked.   I will make a guess at about 24 because of the Atlanta opener.

So true!  Luckily the SEC has made a pretty convincing argument since then that any undefeated team we put up should get the nod.  With USC and OU predicted to win their conferences, there are some pretty scary similarities to 04 though.  Luckily (depending on your view point) we have to play through a gauntlet of teams who will be ranked pre-season, so we have the potential for an awesome resume.  No need to worry about that though, we just need to win our games ONE AT A TIME. Because just as I believe we can beat any of the teams on our schedule, there are a lot of teams good enough to beat us if we don't play our best.

That being said, I think we slip into the top 25 (24th) just so they can put numbers beside both our names as we head into ATL.  We will get to make our case for a ranking early, since a 5-0 Auburn will easily be in the top 10 and a 4-1 team would be top 15.

I think we'll be in the 23-25 range in the preseason AP and Coaches Polls, but we'll probably be higher in the Lindy's and Athlon and other such preseason magazines. The reason I say that is they'll look at numbers and see that we have 18 returning starters and a former USA Today High School Player of the Year at quarterback and think it's a lower risk pick with a greater chance at high returns (if we do well, then they can say "we told you so", but if we don't then they can write it off to youth).

As Led Zeppelin would say, "Ramble on! "

Haha the OP asked a pretty simple question... My guess is 24th. I only say that high because of how we played against Virginia in the bowl game. I think that'll be on a few people's minds.
