Gonna be tough considering that half of our schedule is ranked ahead of us.    We are going to have to spoil some folks' pre-season expectations.    It can be done however.

Same SI that once picked Arizona preseason #1 in football... a team that barely finished top 30 that year and a program which has never made it to the Rose Bowl. I quit noticing their preseason picks after reading that issue in the doctor's office 20 yrs ago!!  :beatmullet:

I think it's a pretty accurate list. Staples generally knows his stuff, imo. I'm a little surprised GT made it.

yeah, it's really not a bad list.. Nothing crazy. I'd drop MichSt & Stanford down the list, Clemson up... &

I'm not sure that Boise, Texas, or Washington will be in the top 25 at season's end.

It's not where you start. It's where you finish.

Unfortunately, with the current system, where you finish does have something to do with where you started.....

Wonder why you would say that?  I know you have been saying 7 or 8 wins, but I have not predicted anywhere a top ten finish this year. Possible?,Yes. Probable?, No.

Not in the SEC it doesn't. We could start dead last, but if we, a recent national champion, beats the other two teams in our division to have won the national championship over the past five seasons, then it's going to raise eyebrows. It mattered in 04, but that was before people realized exactly how difficult it is to play in the modern SEC.
