Sammy Watkins busted for controlled substance and weed this morning. Hate it for him as I understand he's a good guy BUT I dont want him catching any balls against us Sept 1.

Dabo won't have the stones to sit him. He will end up suspending him for some offseason activities.

With or without him they still have plenty of talent. Besides it is the hopkins kid(think that is his last name) that will bust out this year. Sammy will have  another great year but will see alot more double teams allowing Hopkins to explode.

He didn't have coke with him, it was 2 perscription pills which is still a serious deal but only carries a misdemeanor charge. I don't see him playing in the Dome game if Dabo has any sort of stones or character.... wait, nvm.

From a friend who goes to Clemson, here's the email sent to the student body:

   Clemson University police arrested two students on drug-related charges early Friday.

   Samuel B. Watkins IV, 18, a freshman communication studies major from Fort Myers, Fla., and member of the football team, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and simple possession of marijuana, both misdemeanors.

   Amadou-Tidiane Daniel Dia, 18, a freshman in parks, recreation and tourism management from Highlands Ranch, Colo., and member of the men’s soccer team, was charged with simple possession of marijuana.

   The men were arrested when police stopped the car Watkins was driving after an officer saw it scrape against a curb on campus and because the temporary license tag was not illuminated. When the officer pulled the car over in a parking lot off Commons Court, he smelled marijuana. During a search he found marijuana and two pills for which Watkins did not have a prescription.

   The men were arrested and taken to the Clemson City Jail. Watkins was released Friday morning on a $1,620 personal recognizance bond, and Dia was released on a $620 personal recognizance bond.

In any event, I would be surprised if Dabo didn't sit him for a couple games. Character aside, you sit players for drug violations.

take it easy, we played dyer all year last season and he admitted to doin dope the whole time at auburn under oath and i think it was known well before the season. i hope watkins dont play against us but dont slam dabo for doing what it appears we did as well.

Watkins is not the only payer on the team, Clemson will be a handful either way. Dabo should be aware it's smarter for the team in the long run to sit Watkins for a couple games.

I noticed that Clemson has not committed on any kind of suspension yet, just that they will investigate.  What is there to investigate, he got caught by the police with it on his possession?  They are tying to figure out how to not suspend him for their first game.

Investigations can last as long as the person investigating wants/needs for it to can't they? In this case Clemson is doing the investigation so IMO, he plays in the opener. They will present their "findings" at the weakest part of the schedule and then he will receive whatever they think that they can get away with. Sweeney is a turd and will act accordingly.

Please correct me if warranted. The ACC could step in ( ) like they always have with Free Shoes U. 

Seriously though the university or conference may have rules I'm not aware of?
