Anybody see what's going on there?  Something about a recruit, Alex Analozone(sp), a 4* LB, decommitting because some guy with a minor-sex offender history was involved in their spring game, posing for pictures with recruits, players, even coaches.

Is it just me, or could this have major implications for Urban's recruiting efforts?  The comments from the Dad that "something is just not right a t OSU" seems rather omnious at best; just imagine if someone said that about us. Paul Frtbomb says hi.

Urban "No Morals" Myer is what is wrong at tOSU. Putting a man like him in charge of your program will slowly bring it down. Not that OSU can go any lower after tattoo-gate. If anyone of you had read the article about the real Myer at UF then the same results will happen at OSU.

You really wish more recruits had fathers like this.

I think tOHS had no knowledge about the sex offender and the recruit is from PA... as in PSU territory so they may be overly sensitive.  Does anyone really think any university is knowingly going to have anything to do with a registered sex offender being around their players or recruits, especially while the PSU scandal is still running its course?  I don't.

I was talking about his father having the wisdom to separate his child from the entire situation.

I don't OSU had any knowledge of this or UM. it was a father that I said its a long time till Feb, we don't

Have to deal with this mess right now.

The dad even said he thought OSU or UM had done nothing wrong. I just thought it was great

That a parent finally put parenting in front of an athletic scholarship

Yea, I'm sure the folks in Gainsville are pissed with him winning those two national championships and being in 3 SEC Championships. They would've been so much better off today if they had stuck with Zook or gone after someone more mediocre. To think if they went with a traditional coach, they might of won 8 or 9 games this upcoming season. Totally better off with that than 2 National Championships.

Not calling you out as a bammer, but this is a bammer mentality.  I love that we won a NC in 2010, but as an Auburn Man, I am much more proud of our program because it is run the right way.  The problem with collegiate sports right now is that too many schools would rather win at all costs, and throw morals right out the window.  This, in turn, sends the message to the kids that winning is the only important thing in life, and that education and doing the right thing isn't important.  Kids these days need to learn that not everything in life is sunshine and rainbows.

From the article:

"That was enough to spook Anzalone, who already had experienced some regret about his early college decision, his father said."

"Ohio State had no idea that this guy was a perv, Sal Anzalone said. They were totally unaware. Let's make that very clear. That's not Ohio State."

"His father said he might even still consider the Buckeyes. It's a possibility," Sal Anzalone said. Things change. You can't hold them responsible for other people's behavior."

In other words, the kid or the parents didn't want to go to OSU but will consider coming back if things don't work out elsewhere. Reports are he visited UF the following day and is considering Penn State. Man up and say you don't want to be committed to OSU anymore. It happens every day in recruiting.

The guy was someone on campus at night after a spring game of upwards of 70,000 people. How in the world can you police that without putting tracking devices on him? They were looking for a good excuse to pull the commitment and one came along for them.

We've (AU) had enough problems over the past 18 months with our "student-athletes" to last me a life time.  Our coaches and administrators TRY to run our program the "right way", but as eveidenced by our own legal/off the field troubles, crap happens.

^^THIS^^

It is impossible for the university to  control who is on campus for a game. Unless you want to hold everyone up at the border and run a background check on them before letting them through the checkpoint.

I am not arguing that the guy shouldn't be there. and It's great that he was pointed out to the student body. But this was totally an excuse to pull his commitment. You would have to go searching for every tag of the kid. then shearch out everyone that you found to have a pic of your kid on their site with the national sex offender registration. What a pain in the ass.

This took some time at the computer to discover, thats some long hours at the computer. When all he had to do was decommit, smells very fishy to me. This is nothing more than an excuse.

They are from Pennsylvania and there has been a lot of crap going on along those lines at PSU, they probably hear something related to that everyday in their local news and have for dang near a year.  I think that might have played a bigger part in this that you realize.  If they were from some other area of the country, I don't think they react the same way.

PA is a huge state with tons of small towns, unless he lived in one of the college towns there I doubt that it has effected him any more than the rest of the country.

Is there some type of registered offender's list for bammers like Peaches?

Isn't the Teabagger a sex offender?   :dunno:

He is considered one now I think.
