I know this has been talked about before but just saw where Tyrik Rollison said on Facebook that he will be on the Plains again this summer. I wonder if this is true or someones goofing around with his page. Has anyone heard of this?

Would not take him over Frazier any day of the week. He was extremely talented and I loved this kid before... but I think Auburn will eventually name Kiehl Frazier the starting quarterback and he will be a special player for years to come.

There is little doubt in my mind that KF is our best option at qb. I believe that he can lead us to a lot of wins. He has to learn quickly and minimize the  throws to the other team that he made last year. If he can manage the game effectively, he has all of the other tools (attitude, athletic ability, leadership), imo.

The throws he made were all pre-determined. Simplified so he didn't have to make a decision. I'm sure KF will be fine. He's a smart kid, rocket arm, and poised....I am kind of curious as to why they haven't named him starter yet, however.

The receiver was pre-determined but there is no excuse for some of those throws. I don't remember KF making any. He has reportedly and visibly come a long way since. Afterall, he was a freshman and those mistakes were to be expected.

The coaches had and have a higher level of expectations for him and he deserves a higher level. I, personally, don't beleive that we should read anything into his not being named starter yet. I think that they want to leave the door open for competition. A good rule, imo. He needs to keep going forward but he is the man in 2012.

This is Frazier's and Pike's first experience with voluntary summer workouts.  This will be Moseley's 4th.  Frazier and Pike probably aren't ready to lead the offense just yet like Moseley can.  Sometimes you have to be patient.  Voluntary summer workouts are important, are done without coaches present, and are very important to this young team.

Why anyone would judge a true freshman on 12 total passes he threw all season is beyond me.

Whether you feel this is right or wrong, I think the decision to not name a starter at QB boils down to depth at the position, and the fear that someone could opt to transfer if they are not awarded the job.  You can read between the lines here.  If we were to lose one of the proposed starters, our QB depth would be greatly affected.  This is the situation bammer finds itself in this year.  One good hit on McCarron, and bammer will be so one-dimensional you could put your punt block defense on the  field on every down, because passing would become even more obsolete that it already is.

I truly hope that the best QB option gets the job, and the other realizes that they are still very important to this team, and are only one play from being the man.  I do hope that we name a starter, and give them the time to prove themselves, and not pull them at the first sign of trouble.  Also, I will be sick to my stomach if we try to run a two-QB system.  That never seems to work.

WDE!!!

I agree 100%.  We all saw how emotional Mosley was last year when he wasn't starting, I imagine the coaches remember that as well.  If KF was named starter right now, it could 'upset the apple cart' and the last thing this team needs right now if for a disgruntled QB to transfer elsewhere.

Reckon he'll take the news any better this year?

I am hoping Clint follows the character of Neil Caudle.  Caudle is the epitome of an Auburn Man in my book.  He stuck with the team, even though it had to be devastating every year to be the back-up.  Then Cam comes along, in the year that Caudle had his best shot at starting, and it's back to 2nd place.  I was so glad that our NC came down to a field goal to win, and that Caudle was the holder, and was able to cement his place in Auburn history on that play!

War Eagle, Neil!  War Eagle, Clint!  Keep your chin up, no matter the outcome. Stick with it, and you will have another ring before you leave the Plains!!!  WDE!!!

since this was apparently a TR thread, i will go back to that topic ...

i for one, hope the kid comes to auburn ... as an invited walkon ... if he comes and does the things he is supposed to do and performs at a high level, then more power to him.  if that becomes a feel good story and a scholly in a couple of years from now based on deserved contributions, then i applaud the kid.  if any of that turns in to playing time then all the better.  i am all for 4-star walkons.

remember (although this is a very different situation) corey grant is still a walkon, i believe.

Rollison has been around and around the block a few times.  He couldn't start for Auburn, he couldn't start for Sam Houston, he will not come back to AU to try again to start over the current QB talent we have on the roster.

dont care if he starts or not.  dont really care if he contributes in a game or not.  just stated that it would be cool if the kid got things together and if it turned into something, then more power to him.  he is a talented athlete and COULD provide quality athleticism as a walkon, if he utilizes his God given athleticism (i hate to see kids waste God given talents) ... and i would be happy if it turned into a feel good story.  same way i hope jeremy richardson makes something of his talents - plays or not is irrelevant - utilizes his talents to get an education at auburn is what i want to see out of jeremy.  TR getting an education anywhere, utilizing his athleticism as a base, would be a great story.  it is entirely up to him.

Doubtful, and IMO that's why we haven't seen the coaches name a starter yet.  The coaches know him better than anyone.

i am afraid, based on past behavior, that if CM isnt named the starter then he could regress to third string based on the emotions between his ears.  i like an emotional qb, but if channeled in a positive manner.
