Mandatory response: "Cliff's?" for those of us that can't listen. :wedance:

Asked about the team:

***Repeated the sentiment that he feels good where this team is and where they are headed.

***When asked about the QB race said that the summer is the most vital point for team development, especially at that position. Said guys need to be leaders during the summer when coaches aren't around.

***Asked about offense and new philosophy. Said the idea to run the football hasn't changed, but the Tigers will look different. Will huddle (some hurry up still around) and that the offense could include QB option runs, depending on the body taking the snaps.

***When asked what to tell fans about offense, he said formations don't really matter as much as results.

***Said that he hired OC Scot Loeffler because of his unique experience with so many different offenses, same page philosophically.

***asked about coaching defense during bowl game. Said he loved it, but couldn't be effective as head man and DC throughout an entire season.

***Believes in letting his coaches coach.

***Not asked about the VanGorder stache or defense very much

***When told he was a No. 2 seed in the street fight bracket of the SEC coaches that the Cubelic and Kid Show is putting together he chuckled a bit. Trooper is his secret weapon according to the show. Chizik laughed and said Troop has his back and he needs to hit the gym to live up to the seeding hype.

***Asked if there are tough handshakes at mid-field between coaches as if "I could kick you a$$ type handshake", said if he told them he would have to kill them. (hilarious)

Overall great interview with little revealed as usual. Chizik shows yet again that he is a tough as nails type coach, but has a great personality to couple with the hardassness.

Interesting comment about the summer workouts.  If the thread titled "Rumor Mill" is true, and CM is going back home to work for the summer, I think we have our answer of who will be starting under center come Fall.  I truly hope that CM isn't going home, and will compete throughout the summer for the QB job.  It will only make them all better to have the competition.  Even if he doesn't win the starting nod, he'll get valuable experience with our young receivers on timing, route running, chemistry, etc.

All that said, I still think the positon is KF's to lose.

I agree. We all know that "non-mandatory" workouts are a big part of the program development. Especially in a quarterback race where they need to work on timing with receivers.

I agree with every bit of your post, Kiehl Frazier likely starts and having Moseley in Auburn for summer is better for the program. It will be interesting to watch the rumor pan out.

I agree.  I think everyone (that includes the coaches and the team) knows that KF is the starting QB now and will be opening day.  I know what the coaches have said publically, but I believe that is more to keep KF focused and working extremely hard than it is indecision.

I will be surprised if CM is even on the team in Fall. I think we have internally named our starting QB (Frazier), and CM is gone

I believe Clint has more class and is too much of an Auburn Man to give up. I don't know him personally by any means but I know he wanted to play at AU, never heard anything negative about the young man. It sucks when you've been somewhere a couple years, paid your dues and still don't get to start but that is how sports especially football are. I don't for a second believe Clint would refuse to start a game because he felt like it was "owed" to the older guy.

If CM has no intentions of football beyond college, I commend the young man for working to advance his post-college career now.
