More talent on the way

Thanks Bird. You know, as time goes by and kick off draws nearer, the more I am impressed with the outstanding job that the coaching staff is doing in recruiting and gaining commitments from these young men. This coaching staff is busting their tails for these guys and Auburn University and I believe with all my heart that, in return, these guys will bust their tails for for this coaching staff and Auburn University ...... as well as for themselves. I believe these young men want a legitimate opportunity to showcase their talents and I think they realize that they will get that opportunity if they come to Auburn.

WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!!!!

One caveat: the way I understand it, Hutch is going to punt but not place kick. Not sure if we'll be going after another kicker in this class or not, but seeing as both Parkey and Clark are juniors, we need both punter and kicker in short order.

But yeah, good write up. Nothing really new (couple of quotes from high school coaches I'd not seen, just nothing groundbreaking), but a good read for anyone who is not up to date on our current commits.

Any solid information on Auburn Football and Recruiting should be welcomed heartily by both Mods and general membership alike, as it is currently grossly missing from this site.

Hey, I do welcome it! Didn't mean to come off otherwise...it's not like there is any groundbreaking news to be had right now, on this or any other site.

This attitude, in my opinion, is what's wrong with this site right now.  With the exception of the period from Labor Day through Championship weekend in January, which of course is regular season football, the recruitment of future football players is the driving force of all the viable sites.  Baseball, basketball, pro football, etc., garner some interest, but will not continually keep a site alive and prospering.  And, contrary to opinion, there has been a wealth of activity going on right now, and Rivals, Scout, 247,  Theringer, are all reporting this activity on almost a real-time basis.  I am, admittedly, a recruiting junkie, because it provides information on the future of Auburn Football.  As such, I am constantly searching for news on any level.  Auburn Eagle still has the opportunity to uniquely combine the presentation of hard recruiting information (as it used to with DJ and others), with good comments, ideas, and observations of the subjects by the general membership.  Those other sites lack one very important element which AE already has;  a membership that has established relationships and excellent blog-type conversation.  But the leadership needs to understand that there is a hunger for 24/7 (no pun intended) recruiting information.

Well, part of the problem is that we don't have the resources to get such information the same way other sites do. We operate 100% on donations, and none of us get paid a dime to do this. The guys passing along every minute detail of the recruiting process get paid to do it. It's their job. The only guy on here who has connections like that is ST, and he has had an incredible amount on his plate lately, not to mention that he's graduated, married, and gotten a real job since starting the site.

Now, I'm sorry that we can't live up to your expectations, but considering the circumstances, it's rather difficult to do anything more, no? Considering that all of the information that comes out on the premium sites makes its way here pretty quickly, I think it's a fair value.

This site is an extremely interesting and interesting source of information--regardless of how it finds its way to get here. What I enjoy most is that, for the most part, the site is frequented mostly by Auburn men and women interested in Auburn that enjoy open discussions of common interest. Fortunately it is not plagued by naysayers nor fans of schools dropping by to be irritating. Just my 2 cents worth.

Thanks for the comments.  This site is not plagued by naysayers and fans of other schools becase we don't allow them to be here.  Thanks for being here.

The only thing I miss is how much fun we used to have on this board. We could really give each other a hard time, and everybody knew how to take it. I can't remember when everything changed, but it seemed to abruptly change when it did. I craved coming on here just to find out what everybody was up to. Now, you really have to be careful what you say. Wish it could go back to being how it used to be. But it is still good to be here. War Eagle!

Ok, back on topic..  Could this next class be the BEST Defensive Class AU has ever signed? SERIOUS question. I'm talking about BIG CATS. That weekend will be paramount...

2012 Class of 21 status:  4 already enrolled in January; 9 more reporting this week, most of them today.  They are: Avery Young, Jonathan Wallace, Joshua Holsey, Jonathan Jones, Jovon Robinson, Cass McKinzey, Ricky Parks, Robert Leff, and Alex Kozan.  My guess is there are potentially nine all-SEC, four all-American, and one Heisman in the bunch.  Oh, and BTW, nine future NFL draft picks. :happydance::yay::party::wareagle: :wareagle: :wareagle:

;D  sorry, i couldnt keep that up any longer ... i have said repeatedly that i am not funny and that probably ends up not coming off that way.  as a fairly newby to the site the last year or 2, i dont remember the "how it used to be", but i generally can tolerate the few goobers - i very much enjoy the site and the banter.

yea , think this ends up being a highly, highly successful class.  i trully feel like the next year or so will be the tipping point for great things at auburn and this coming class will propel that notion to well into the future.
