I need advice on how to get out of a wedding of a coworker who happens to be marrying my wife's friend from high school.  The wedding is literally in a barn, the reception is a glorified kegger, and they will be riding a john deer tractor down a dirt road when they leave.  They are both nice individuals and I convinced myself it would be an "interesting" life experience.  However,  the final nail in the coffin was when i saw the alter

Just go.  They are both friends of yours, no matter their college allegiences.  It's just a wedding, it's not like they will lock you in the barn until you commit to be a dawg.  Go, if nothing more than to enjoy the reception.

Yeah, just go. If it makes you feel better, wear orange and blue. What is the attire going to be like? I mean, its in a barn and they're riding into the sunset on a tractor, surely it can't be too formal, and if you can get away with wearing an Auburn polo and ball cap, then why not?

Well, went to the ceremony.  The theme was Georgia Bulldogs.  The bride and groom were both decked out in home and away jerseys.  The bales of hay were a nice touch imo.  I left before the kegger.....err reception , but From what iI heard, 2 got arrested and a fight broke out...and that was before they lit corn cobs, soaked in kerosene, on fire and threw them at each other.  Here I thought that my wife's  family was strange (redneck Alabama fans)

My goodness that's new one for me. Never heard of doing that. I could see a hand catching on fire easily

I would be kicking myself for missing that. You should post pics of that if there were any.

I have actually witnessed individuals  engaged in that corncob activities before.  They soak their hand in kerosene before handling them......  Here I thought it was an Alabama/ Georgia thing.  After 15 years, I'm still learning new things about the South I never was taught up North, lol.
