and WDE Jonathan!!

From what I've seen and read about Jonathan Jones, the kid is W-I-N-N-E-R and bleeds blue and orange.  Obviously he has the pure athletic ability to be successful, but he also possesses the winner attitude that makes all the difference.  Congratulations on all your high school accolades, and War Eagle Jonathan Jones!!

:we:

correct me if i am wrong ... elite track athletes, mentally, have that little something extra ... kinda like golf - you can be very, very talented - but the mentality to be a winner in track is what makes you elite.

that will translate very, very well to college football.

Thank you  :'(

sorry couldn't help myself but you are correct about the mentality of golf. Just look at Tiger Woods today as compared to 3 years ago. Its what's between the ears

i was wondering who would jump on that first ... i thought it would be bird, but kudos to you for beating him to it!

I got to see J Jones play once last year. He played on a very good team. He did not get to do much in the game I saw because they were just killing the team they played. Two things struck me when I watched him.

1. Closing speed.

2. He plays taller than you think. I dso not believe they have him listed at 6 feet, but he played and looked at least 6 feet.

I cannot believe Jones was a 3 star out of HS.

I wouldn't be too shocked about the stars thing. DB's are notoriously hard to evaluate coming out of high school, if for no other reason than that they generally don't put out very telling stat lines. If a DB is elite in high school, it usually just results in the opposing team never throwing to his side of the field, so the interception and deflection numbers might not be there.  Heck, in some case the film might not even be there. So when it comes to DB's I generally put a lot more faith in the coaches' evaluations than anyone else's (more so than usual).
