best place to work out in auburn?

Recommended Posts

Back in the day, me and my brother used to work out at "Kaz's".  I don't know if that place is even still open.

;D

World Gym on college (by Big Blue Bookstore), is super cheap ($10 per month no contract) and is a pretty good gym.  Max Fitness is good too, but it turns into college social hour in the evenings.

It closed back in 2004 but he opened a place called SWAT behind Durango's over by the mall.

Hey guys I have been at Auburn for a few years now and have always worked out at the student act aka biggest craphole on campus. I know we are getting a sweet new gym supposedly in the spring, but I doubt it will be opened by then plus I only have one year left of school. I have been away from Auburn since last fall working an internship so I have no idea what the construction around the act is like, but it was terrible last fall and I am tired of that crappy excuse for a gym. Anyways, I want to join a gym in Auburn but don't know which one is the best for what I am looking for. I don't need any fancy classes or ammenities, just a nice sized gym with nice equipment where I don't risk contracting HIV everytime I go.

World's is $15 a month now and Max has much more equipment.

How much is Max a month? I am so skeptical of that place because when it was Gold's Gym, the people that use to corner you on the concourse were so annoying. Dumb reason I know but its true.

Yeah I worked there when it was Gold's.  They wanted us to blatantly lie to people to get them in the doors so they could pretty much harass them to sign a contract.  I'm not all about that, so I got another job.

I agree, but I hear it turns into fraternity/ sorority social hour when school is in.

Well in that case go in the morning while they are sleeping off their hangovers.

I used to room with a couple of workout nuts (who quite often worked out with football players, and one of them told me he'd been working out with Craig Sanders for years back when he was a recruit, which was when I lived with him), and they were into Gold's Gym/Max Fitness for the most part, so that tells you how good the equipment is. Don't know anything about the fraternity/sorority hour thing, but that's a big part of the reason I don't go to Sky Bar, so I don't doubt that it exists elsewhere as well.
