QB because the QB should be the leader of the team and should be the best on the team (though 99% of the time isnt the most talented on the feild) I like a great QB and a stable of good backs.

Why cant we have both take turns winning it  :)

I said RB because if our RB is having that type of season, then everything else is clicking. Also the QB will be having a good year due to the focus on the running game.

Agreed.

It is easier to win with a great RB than a QB if the rest of the team isn't good.

Unless the QB can run for the first down on 3rd down when the WRs can't catch. Or can run down field and catch his own passes.

Same argument can beside by a QB, if a QB is having a Heisman type season the WR are doing their job and catching passes opening up the run game for the backs.  :tease:

Great poll. I said RB because no matter how much the game evolves, championship teams are usually good at two things: Defense and running the football. If a RB is good enough to win the Heisman that team is a lot more likely to be in the top 5 teams in the country. Look at the RBs who have won the last 11 years: Reggie Bush and Mark Ingram. Those two teams they were on had 1 loss between the two of them.

I think for a team to have a Heisman candidate they have to be good pretty much every where and they have to be in the hunt. RG III from Baylor came from the worst team in recent memory. They weren't bad, they just weren't in the hunt.

I think Auburn has the talent to produce a few candidates worthy of Heisman talk - QB, RB and possibly WR (If Travon Reed produces like he's capable). But, the D is going to have to get tough - real tough. The O line is going to have to be very near great.

I still think Auburn is going to surprise and maybe be in the hunt for the SEC west this year but probably drop a couple of games. In 2013, with the talent and experience that will be fielded a Junior Kiehl Frazier, any one of 4 RBs and a Junior T Reed may be lighting it up and draw an awful lot of attention.

I would say the most likely candidate at this moment would be K Frazier. If he has a very good Sophomore campaign and the team looks to be a power in '13 then he will certainly be mentioned early.

As for my vote I'd take a QB any day but he needs a lot of help around him.

Sorry for the ramble. I just had coffee

I would love to have both of course, but if i had to choose id say QB. In my opinion a QB controls the outcome of the game more than the running back,in other words if we have a heisman canidate at QB its also a good chance our record shows it more. :wareagle:

I picked RB becasuse to have a great RB you need a great O-Line when you have a great O-line the QB will look good to.

My real vote is to have an O-Line win the Heisman.

Let's face it...Cam was actually an oversized running back!

Who could throw, catch, and punt the ball. He could probably have played goalie, if there was one in the game of football.

I change my vote now upon looking at things historically and what position between RB and QB have brought their team the most success over the last 20 years. Both have good win percentages. Teams with RB Heisman winners are only one percent higher in win percentage than are teams with QBs. Teams with QBs as Heisman winners have more National Championships. However they also have more losses in the NC game than do RBs. But a team with a QB as their Heisman winner is 4 times more likely to go to and or win a National Championship than is a team with a RB. Here's the stats:

1992 Miami 11-1 QB **

1993 Florida State 12-1 QB*

1994 Colorado 11-1 RB

1995 Ohio State 11-2 RB

1996 Florida 12-1 QB*

1998 Texas 9-3 RB

1999 Wisconsin 10-2 RB

2000 Florida State 11-2 QB**

2001 Nebraska 11-2 QB**

2002 USC 11-2 QB

2003 Oklahoma 12-2 QB**

2004 USC 12-0 QB*

2005 USC 12-1 RB**

2006 Ohio State 12-1 QB**

2007 Florida 9-4 QB

2008 Oklahoma 12-2 QB**

2009 Alabama 14-0 RB*

2010 Auburn 14-0 QB*

2011 Baylor 10-3 QB

QB W-L: 149-21

QB Win %: 86

QB NCs: 4

QB NC losses: 4

RB W-L: 67-9

RB W-L: 87%
