Arkansas State game 2013

This may get an argument started but I am curious as to what y'all think. What kind of reception will Gus Malzahn and Mike Dyer get when they return to Jordan Hare in 2013? If they are both there still of course. I tend to think Malzahn will get a positive one, even though I know many fans weren't too upset to see his style of offense leave. Dyer is who I am really interested in...

Hopefully it will be all positive all around. It definitely will be for me. Dyer and Malzahn both made significant contributions while they were here, and I don't see any real reason why they shouldn't be treated well if they both are still at Arkansas State and make it to Jordan-Hare.

Yeah I figured Gus would get some love. I am sure there are some fans that are irked at Dyer. I am more disappointed on what could have been had he stayed at Auburn. I wish him the best in life, but since he will be on the opposing team I hope we shut him down Lattimore style!

Both should get standing ovations (they were a big part of our National Championship team) and then we should shut down their team.

I don't see why this is even a question.

Gus did us a favor by staying around to successfully coach us to a win in a secondary bowl game for Auburn after he had taken the head coaching job at Arkansas State.  Dyer leaving was probably in both his best interest and our best interest considering what came out recently in the trial and has not disrespected Auburn in any way that I am aware of.  What's the problem?

No problem at all, was just curious to see what people thought the 90,000 fans in the stadium would do when we play them.

I feel they both should get a very positive applause, but im just one opinion out of almost 90,000 that will be there. Yes we all hate how Dyer left but he is a big reason why we have that BCS title in that trophy case. :wareagle:

The stadium will probably cheer for Malzahn & boo at Dyer.

This. Not sure if either, let alone both, will be there but Malzahn would get applause. It may be wrong, but I'm not going to blame anybody who would boo Dyer--and there would be a lot. For better or worse the most lasting memory of a player can be a final memory of that player. Let's not forget that Dyer was a prime reason behind the humiliating trailer park robbery last year. I appreciate that run in the NC, but the very mention of his name brings a bitter taste to my mouth.

Ummm, no.  Did he supply the gun? Yes. However, in no way can anyone make a logical leap from supplying a gun to being the reason why the four committed the crime.  They had their own reasons, and none of them involved Dyer.

Yes it was but dont get over the fact Dyer in no way form or fashion committed a crime nor did he encourage then to do it.  McNeil was a soon to be senior and maybe have been drafted this year. I can not find a reason why anyone would boo Dyer, he did nothing to harm me personally and as far as I can see did not harm Auburn in anyway....He just was not ready for a leadership role and had some maturity issues...I wish him the best and will always remember him as an AU football player

I expect the crowd will welcome them as any other former coach and/ or player is welcomed back to the Plains.  Auburn Men and Women should behave like Auburn Men and Women.  I personally reserve all boos for folks who wear houndstooth, crimson, or silver britches.

I agree:    MD said some things at the trial that made us uncomfortable but he never dissed his former coaches or his team mates and much to the chagringe of the national press, he never indicated that drug usage was condoned by the coaches or was a problem.

no college or any amatuer athlete should EVER, EVER, EVER be booed for any reason, under any circumstance!!!

EVER!!!  Opposite team or not!  NEVER, EVER!!!

Not sure if I completely agree with this. They aren't 8 year old little league kids. If the player has gone out of their way to talk trash i.e. Isaiah Crowell, he deserves whatever boos come his way. Also, if you are a student and booing someone your own age, I don't see the issue with it.
