TN is going to have a pretty sick offense, if CP gets eligible.  Their WR roster is unreal.  Dooley better do something with this talent, or he might not be back in Knoxville next year.

Oops. I thought I remembered correctly. Thanks guys.

I agree, Dooley's got talent and experience returning this year, it's his time to prove his worth.  Their WR's are great, but can they run the ball?

I disagree with UT being very good. Yea, they have a good QB that can throw the ball and very good receivers. I think they have an average at best running game and a average at best OL. They also have a Defense that may be worse than average. Finally, they have not recruited at the level they did when Fulmer was in his prime. An interesting fact is that UT used to be able to get anyone they wanted recruiting-wise from Tenn. outside of the occasional AL commitment from Memphis and an occasional AU pull from the Nashville, Brentwood area. Now Vandy is outrecruiting them for top RB's in Tenn. AU as well. Tennessee is not GA or FL or even AL when it comes to top level recruits either. They are not very deep in any position outside of WR. Their kicking game had always been one of the best in the country and it is down as well.

This will be a great year to see how UT does recruiting-wise in Tennessee, specifically against AU. We are both looking at Jordan Wilkins RB. Bet we win!

Most would agree that your post is a very accurate analysis of the Tennessee program at this point in time.

Izauea Lanier is ineligible for this season as well.

He was committed to Auburn before he went to JUCO

and after juco. he was our first commit for the year after juco, but then he was suddenly no longer interested.

Correct.  Same with Will Latu last year.  Plus, we backed off of Patterson when it became apparent his grades were a question.  It is important with Jucos to enroll them early.

I don't think that's a correct about their o-line.  They had injuries there and the guys were young true sophomores. I don't know how they are getting coached but every one of their starters we wanted so I doubt they lack in talent.  And we wanted Patterson badly.

A couple of amendments here.  As I posted earlier, we wanted Patterson up until a point when academics became a queston.  Second, regarding the current Vols O-line, there's not one on there that we went after 100%.  We looked at James Stone early on, but he quickly went off the board.  We did pursue Tiny Richardson pretty hard, but when he changed schools in order to get his grades right, we backed off.  Look at our o-line class the past two years; we haven't missed on very many.

Apparently, according to Volquest, he only has to complete two courses, and can then expect to enroll around the first of July.  Lanier is definitely gone.
