ESPN has been going through and deleting the craziest of the bammers comments. Notice how they just call him an alabama FAN and never refer to him as an alabama GRADUATE. 32 year old with a college degree and still drops nuts on a kids face 12 years younger than him.............thank GOD im a redneck barner cow poker and havent stooped to the level of uat grad!!! One of the saddest parts of this sordid deal is that the perp AND his buddies were so dang proud of what he was doing that they took video of it and put it on youtube so they could share it with other bammers.  In contrast to what Harvey did, you could tell they were UAT grads because they got video proof so people couldn't discount their tales as just brashful bammer boasting.

Just curious, on a Stinky-Turd-O-Meter with a scale from 1 to 10, how do you rank Brian Downing, Harvey Updyke, Scott Moore, Danny Sheridan, and John Phillips?  Personally I think they all peg the meter... talk about poor sports and a lack of morals and/or honesty and ethics.  Each one committed acts so vile you had to hear it for yourself or from multiple sources to believe it.

I put them all at about a 5.  Pretty much the kind of stuff I would expect from the average bammer.

Mark Packer on Sirius radio asked the question of what teams are the hardest for opposing fan bases to visit. Some turd chimed in with "Barners". Mark Packer said that with a guy on trial for poisoning Toomers and another going on trial for sexual battery against an LSU fan they had no room to talk. He said that the turds have to be up there for one of the worst fan bases.

I think you may be missing a point here. Harvey Updyke and Brian Downing represent totally different characteristics in the worst of the bammer fans. Harvey represents bammers when the lose to a rival in a gut wrenching way while Brian represents bammers when they win big time against a rival and it is time to celebrate.

Then there are the special occasions where bammers are best represented by unique individuals like Scott 'I have fake tapes that prove it' Moore, Danny 'I lied at SEC Media days to strategically hurt Auburn and said the NCAA knows who the bagman is' Sheridan, John 'I classlessly edited videos to embarrass your coaches wife' Philips, etc.  But there is a common thread about honesty, ethics, and morals, or the lack thereof, among a great many bammers.

This is brilliant! We should do this on AE. We should make a thread where we name potential nominees with a synopsis of why they qualify. From that group the top 5 will be nominated for a vote. The top vote getter will be named the winner of the annual "Updyke Award."
