Have you heard the LATEST rumor from across the state???  Its a doozie...

In regards to Cyrus K's recruitment two years ago...apparently, the Auburn coaching staff (in addition to providing him booze and hookers) secretly video taped CK having "relations" with a girl (who was in on the setup, BTW) and BLACKMAILED him with it into committing to AU.  Alabama, in all their righteousness, found out about it and threatened to turn AU in if they didn't leave poor CK alone. 

Apparently his father was so appalled he is writing a book about this, the seedy underbelly of college recruiting, and ESPN is going to publish it. 

One of my friends seriously has read this on a couple of Bama boards.

Those are mild in comparison to the latest hate filled lies being told on tidefans.  That is one very very sick group of people.  They were the infamous Megaboard during the Cam smear campaign. I will only say that the lies they are spreading are very sick.

Just laugh at the ingorance and move on. If CK's dad was going to write a book, he is going to need to provide proof of his claims or he will find himself in a court and will not like the result of that court.

Logic is holding on line one.

A publisher depends on profit and publishing something that leads directly to a courtroom isn't a way to profit. Cease and desist orders do not make much money. A reputable publisher isn't going to provide the man with enough legal counsel to get his rear end out of the sling that making claims like that would put him in. They wouldn't let him put them in the sling with him. Get a grip.

Ok, you win, you drug me in. Just one quick point of my own. IF AU was going to cheat or do something underhanded, does it really make sense we would do it with a player whose brother already plays at UAT?

Wouldn't anyone in their right mind think it might be a setup when the brother of a UAT player visits us?

This would be akin to UAT or the REC offering the son of one of our coaches something improper. Often people with a lot of money are evil; less often are they stupid.

So your mission is defend anything questionable about UAT that doesn't have 100% concrete evidence, for the sake of not letting Auburn fans being seen as fanatical as bammers? And it's o.k for the Updykes to slam Auburn in anyway and make up any atrocious rumor they want because your concern is for the Auburn fans? 

Maybe its just me but as an Auburn fan, I've never been worried about how fanatical/crazy Auburn fans might look in contrast with the updyke nation. Afterall, I don't remember any Auburn fans poisoning thUGA's mutt or LSU's kitty after last years games. I also don't remember hearing any stories about Auburn fans rubbing their junk on any Oregon fan's face after the 2010 BCS Title. But hey, maybe I've got selective memory.

1. My mission is NOT to defend UAT, I defend the truth, logic, and reason. That is what Universities are about, the quest for knowledge, understanding, and the truth.

2. When/Where did I say it was OK for Bammers to slam AU? I have pretty good track record of defending AU here and in public. Some people hate UAT so bad, they feel the need to make up stuff about me and UAT.

In the case above, I saw no need to further defend AU because:

a. It was obvious

b. TT did a great job of saying what I was thinking (and I pointed that out)

c. After additional encouragement, I did spell out the fallacies in the UAT post. (See 5 posts above)

3. I did not say my concern was for Auburn FANS, I said my concern was for AUBURN. It is impossible to protect some people from themselves and their way of thinking, and for those, I don't try.

For those that like to know BOTH sides of a story and draw their own conclusions, I post my perspective. People are free to agree or disagree. Who knows, maybe I am all wrong and just totally out of touch with reality, if that is the case, the truth will ultimately be exposed (unless of course it is continuously shrouded by an ever growing conspiracy).

4. The updykes can make themselves and the University they represent look as bad and as ridiculous as they want. Some AU fans don't always reflect well on AU either. All I try to do is make well reasoned responses in my posts and I Have no problem with people who challenge my logic/reasons/facts. I am certainly open to changing my mind when I read a compelling arguments that supports me to do so.

5. However, I am not going to sell out all manner of logic and reason just so I can find more wrong with UAT or hate UAT more. My self worth is not predicated on me finding 101 ways I am better than UAT fans, even if I have to distort the truth, logic, and reason to do so.

6. It is fine with me if you and others don't worry about how fanatical/crazy you look compared to other fan bases. That is every fan's prerogative, but for me, I prefer to hold myself to a higher standard.

7. The example you gave about the UAT fans after  the BCS was 100% true. I had not heard about the UAT fans in the animal poisoning, so I can't speak to that one way or the other (though several things would lead me to doubt same).

Nothing in my post was aimed at anything but the rumor and the people who spread said rumor.

It is amazing to watch people bring their personal baggage to a response. Unbelieveable how something so simple can be read in so many ways.... Well, not really.
