Ohio State coach Urban Meyer removed the athletic scholarships of tight end Jake Stoneburner and offensive tackle Jack Mewhort, ESPN.com reported Saturday.

Stoneburner is the No. 3-rated tight end prospect for 2013 by NFLDraftScout.com, while Mewhort is rated as the 10th-best guard in the '14 class.

The players, who are seniors, were disciplined after they settled court cases from a June 2 incident. Both players were charged with obstructing official business after police in Delaware, Ohio, said they urinated on a building and fled when confronted by officers. They pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct Friday.

Both players, however, will have opportunities to work their way back on scholarship and return to the team after the summer.

"We are disappointed with the decisions made recently by two of our football players," Meyer said in a statement. "Jake Stoneburner and Jack Mewhort will each be removed from athletic scholarship beginning with the summer term, and they will continue to be suspended from team activities until stipulations are successfully met."

Stoneburner and Mewhort, who are projected starters this season, are enrolled in summer classes but have to pay their own tuition during the term. They are allowed to work out at the team's facility during the summer but not with their teammates.

And yet when his player at UF gouges the eyes of the opposing team's RB, he felt like it wasn't necessary to punish him at all, then succumbed to pressure and sat him for the first quarter of the "who even remembers who they were playing" game.

I guess ol' Urban is trying to show some discipline up there!

Thanks for the assist, Sand!

I didn't see this live, and thought it was just sour grapes from my buddy that is a huge Dawg fan, but when I saw the video, I was like "Wow!".  Blatant attack by Brandon Spikes (I think).  I thought to myself "this guy is done with football".  Then I saw where Urban wasn't going to suspend him at all.  Meyer may be a good coach, but he is not a good person.  Win at all costs is his motto, and when things don't go his way, he starts crying like a baby and underhandly tries to get other programs in trouble (see the Cam Newton "cheating" scandal).

tOSU can have this d-bag!!!
