Saw this piece today in a couple places.

Said he picked UF over AU and UAT...but frankly I've never heard of him and could not find anything about him in any recent posts on this site.    Is this a case of UF trying to look good or was AU really recruiting this kid?

Neither. It's a case of a kid who wanted to go to Auburn or Bammer but had to settle for Florida. The Sentinal was just likely saying Auburn and Bammer were recruiting him because that's what he told them.

And this should be in college football.

Well, if that is the case, then Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss recruited me out of high school, and I graduated as a 6-1 210 pound OG and OLB from a 2A high school. :hellyeah:

Max Staver is a QB that I've followed for some time because he is in my backyard and he attends Brentwood Academy, which used to be a source for a lot of Auburn Tigers.  It's also where Jalen Ramsey plays football;  Jalen is one of the top-rated CBs still on the board.  We were actively recruiting both kids early on, but apparently have moved on because we have filled our QB snd CB needs.  UF appeared to have gotten left out when the QB dominos fell, but they may have gotten lucky with Staver.  He's not one of the higher rated kids, but many expect his stock to rise as the year progresses.  Ramsey will probably go to the likes of USCw, Stanford, or UT.  Our pipeline to Brentwood Academy appears to have been broken, though, after the departure odf Carlton Flatt (no kin to Lester), BA's very successful coach.  Last year, we pursued Graham Schuler, an Auburn legacy (father is Rob), but he signed with Stanford.  We offerred late after we lost a couple of our other targets, but he had already committed to the Cardinal.  Former BA alumni that have played for us are John Vaughn, Kody Bliss, King Dunlap, Mike Berry, and AJ Greene.

So Ellitor...if this belongs in College Football...why are we still running an endless string on Reuben Foster and strings on at least a half dozen other guys who have either committed (Pocic to LSu, etc) elsewhere and/or do not even have an actual "offer" from Auburn.
