As I've said before, as long as Chad Simmons is in charge of rankings in the south on Scout, AU commits will not receive a fair shake.  I actually don't think Simmons acts intentionally or with malice.  He's just not the brightest bulb in the box and his allegiances show.  He was never a great talent evaluator anyway, but he is very connected with high school coaches in Georgia.

My understanding is that Simmons' influence over rankings is much more substantial now.  But I honestly don't know the answer without looking at scout's rankings.  As I said, I am not even sure Simmons is aware of what he's doing.  There's just too much uga in him.

Scouts treats us better than Rivals.

All of those recruiting sites are for the fans, nothing else. They make money on fans like us that obsesses about every thing that is happening to your program and how you are competing with other programs.

Our coaching staff does not look at Scouts or Rivals to determine who they want because of how many stars they have. We has fans do because they, the recruiting sites, give us info on the recruits. Fans get their info from web sites designed to make money. Our coaches get their info from watching each player play and talking with their coaches, family, and friends. I will trust our coaches decisions over any recruiting site every time.

Ummm, good recruiting maybe? We had too good of a class to not be considered one of the best out there.

We're not claiming bias, I'm claiming that they're horrible talent evaluators as a whole. Literally the bottom of the barrel, even including ESPN now.

Scout a a whole I agree.  I do think there is bias with Simmons though.  It's a shame scout has fallen so far.  Scott Kennedy is actually a great talent evaluator, but now that he's on the west coast, he has very little input on the kids in the south.

I agree with KK in that I don't think it's a bias so much as it is just amateurish job; I've never thought much of scout's talent evaluations. Or, well, when I was first getting into recruiting and didn't know any better, I liked scout because my brother had a membership (still think a lot of Mark Murphy, Jason Caldwell, etc, just the rankings, which they do not control, are kinda whacked), but once I started actually paying attention...

Thanks for the clarification. On a side note I agree with KK about ESPN slipping. I was bored the other day and figured something out. ESPN gives out 130 4 star or better ratings more than any other service. ESPN (454), Scout (300), The Ringer (327), Rivals (315), 247 (323). I would say ESPM is way off.

They are not crap. Recruiting is a form of human social science. Nothing about humanity is 100%. Yes they get individual recruits wrong but team rankings are pretty good. If they were crap then the 2 teams that play in the national title game every year would not be getting top 10 classes leading to their title game run, but the cold hard fact is they do.

Yes, and all but Thomas O'Reilly are still on the team. Great class of non-attrition thus far. All in this class should see the field this year, and most in the 2-deep rotation.

Funny how this happends after ER said, Alabama was only recruiting him hard because he was committed to Auburn. Confirming that he would sign with Auburn.
