Opponents' Schedules Prior To Auburn

Given that it's June and news is slow (outside of the flushing scandal) I thought I'd look at who our opponents play leading up to their game with us.  Check it out and comment as to how you think this affects the outcome of the games (if at all).  I left off La. Monroe, NM State, and AL A&M.

Clemson-Season opener vs. Auburn

MSU-Jackson State, AU

LSU- North Texas, Washington, Idaho, AU

Arky- Jacksonville St., La. Monroe, Bama, Rutgers, Texas A&M, AU

Ole Miss- Central Ark., UTEP, Texas, Tulane, Bama, Texas A&M, AU

Vandy- USCe, Northwestern, Presbyterian, UGA, Mizzou, FLA, AU

Texas A&M- La Tech, FLA, SMU, SC State, Arky, Ole Miss, LSU, AU

UGA- Buffalo, Mizzou, Fla Atl., Vandy, Tenn, USCe, UK, FLA, Ole Miss, AU

Bama- Michigan, W. Kentucky, Arky, Fla Atl., Ole Miss, Mizzou, Tenn, MSU, LSU, Texas A&M, W. Carolina, AU

Ole Miss, Vandy, and Texas A&M have the toughest road to playing Auburn at that point in the year. I figure those are 3 wins for the Tigers anyway, especially now looking at their schedule. Arky may be in a tough spot playing Bama, Rutgers, and then Texas A&M before coming to JHS but I think we'd still have the advantage being at home and having the off week prior. Otherwise, it looks relatively easy for the others unless Ole Miss becomes a great team and gives Georgia a tough game prior to our game.

MSU - Two weeks and all summer to prepare for us at home. We come off a tough game that will be good for some experience but tough and not allow for the extra prep time MSU will have. Adv - MSU

LSU - Bigtime advantage LSU. Will basically have all summer and a month to prep for us with some warm-up scrimmages. Are you kidding me?

Arky - No advantage either way IMO.

Ole Miss - Advantage AU, but who cares.

Vandy - Shouldn't matter.

A&M - Advantage AU. After facing LSU the week before, advantage us.

UGA - No advantage either way.

Bama - No advantage either way.

The one thing we have going for us against LSU is that they will not have had to defend a real offense or moved the ball against a real defense, so we could catch them over-confident and under-prepared.  The key will be winning our first 2 games without giving away our entire playbook.

Also, how can LSU have all summer to prepare for an Auburn team that did not exist last year? (New offensive and defensive schemes) They have no film and no idea what to expect. They will have to rely on the film from the first few games of the season.

UGA - Advantage Georgia - They have a powderpuff schedule so should have minimal number of injuries and should be able to play lots of players so should be fressher team when we play.  I still think we will remember last year and beat them

Agree about the lack of film with us having new coordinators. However, they and their fanbase will be looking forward to us all summer as their first real game. Also, I expect we will get some extra prep work from their coaches in regards to personnel, how, who, and where they may want to attack us.

Either way, take out or leave the summer part and they still have many weeks to prepare for us and will have 2 good weeks of game film against two quality opponents where we will be "showing our hand" so to speak. Meanwhile, they will have nothing more than a few scrimmages that we will not be able to glean as much from.

I say advantage LSU.

Let's just hope the lsu coaching staff puts in as much effective prep time for us as they did before the national championship game. Being serious, I think we will be battle tested way more than them and that could help us. I definitely think lsu has a lot of talent, but a first year starter coming into JHS without reallly playing anyone before should rattle him a bit. I look for that game to start fast for us and lsu eventually settle in and battle it out the rest of the game.

What I like about our schedule is we don't play more than 2 tough teams in a row.

Look at $puat, they run off Mizz, UT, MSU, LSU, T A&M before a creampuff and then us. They may win them but that's 5 games straight of teams wanting to kick their arrogant butts.

The only teams that appear to have any advantage schedule wise are MSU and LSU.

Who has open dates before they play us? Thats an important piece of the puzzle too. Clemson excluded of course.

I don't see any SEC team with an open date before us, so they don't have that advantage.

That MSU game looming after Clemson has me a tad worried. It def makes it a little tougher when you open with a quality opponent, but I much prefer that to a cream puff opener. It really kicks off the season right IMO.

We will have relevant game film prior to A&M and they will be beat up

Thats the problem. If we cant run downhill on Clemson everybody will have plenty of film.

UGA isn't studying Auburn. They are full of piss and vinager twards USC. Have been all summer, thats all I hear them talk about. Besides after the season starts they will be too busy swaggering with the overinflated head to care until a week out from playing us. That is if they can manage to beat Mizzuo and USC adn Florida. But with their easy schedule they should be very overconfident. and get blasted by Auburn.

UGA and LSU's schedule is a joke (as far as SEC schedules are concerned).....SEC championship rematch no doubt.

UGA will smash USC and LSU is going to absolutely publically abuse Bama this year!

I hope so - I can't remember the last time bama got beat by double digits/abused on the football field.  Maybe LSU will be the team to get it done this year.  :hellyeah:
